Post by Lee Tamotsu on March 14th 2009, 12:26 am

A small edit that I found to be necessary. Several sections are now not accessible by guest. Those that remain visible are all of General Chat, Information and Rules, and Guest Lounge.

This is so guests have an easier time navigating through the site when they first see it. It won't be as confusing. Trust me though, if you just viewed this site recenlty, there are many more RP categories opened to members.

Post by Lee Tamotsu on March 16th 2009, 1:55 pm

There have been two new members since Edaunte's arrival. Sakage and Seeven Fy.

A new addition has been Added to Information and Rules. Inactive Members
Inactive members is a place where characters who were made but never used, hardly used, or the creator has gone inactive are placed. This is to clean up parts of the forum without resorting to deleting ones created characters.

The Grave Yard addition has been modified to only hold those created characters who have died by some means in the RP. It was once used only for inactive members

The Artist Lounge category has been added. If it is art and you would like people to see it and receive feedback the Artist Lounge is for you. (No Mature Art Please)

And lastly the Guest Lounge has been added. It is the only place that guests can post. No where else is this option or opportunity given. We have realized that many guests have been coming to our site over the past few days or weeks. If you are a guest and confused if this is the right forum for you, feel free to leave posts to ask questions.

If this feature is abused, the posts will be deleted on the spot. If it gets out of hand this feature will no longer be available.

A music box has now been added to the homepage of the forum. It has a nice selection of Avatar music to listen from and it randomly shuffles throughout the list. This way listening to it never gets too repetitious to quick.

Minor edits! But edits nothingless!

First off the background music for the homepage that was recently added has been scaled down to a more suitable size. It was once a little to big.

The artist lounge no longer has it's own category and has been placed in General Chat category which now consists of.

General Chat
Artist Lounge - Avatar Related - Game Section

The Guest Lounge Category has now been moved up to the first category of the forum. So it should be a lot easier for any browsing guest to spot.

We are also number 6 on the list of Games and RPs. I don't know what it really means, but I found it to be neat.

Re: Avatar Episodes Forums

Post by Lee Tamotsu on April 12th 2009, 7:38 pm

The rules to the RP have been modified and added! Below are every rule that we think is needed or has been created during a time we believed it necessary.
One character per member, and one account per household/IP proximity. No exceptions!

^ Note this only applies to those who are interested in the RP. If a member of the same household is interested only in the non-RP sections, there will be no problems at all.

Mainly because we have had members who have had family members or double accounts for characters, but ruined the RP experience for everyone else through different means of rule breaking.

This doesn't mean that if you have a family member who wants to be part of the RP can't join. They can, however there must be at least two computers with connections, and we will play it along and see how it goes. If rules are broken and or fake accounts are exposed, the double account will be exterminated. If problems continue all accounts within the household will be exterminated.

How dedicated will you be to this RP?

Yes this is quite an important question to tell the truth. We have a handful of characters which were created, yet, that’s all they were, created and nothing more. We also have a handful of characters who ended up leaving half way through a story, leaving the rest of us who were left to figure out what to do with their character without making a lot of plot holes.

This means if you create a character, you must play as them, you can only have one character for the RP, at least this is the rule for now. So if you think you might not like playing as a certain character for too long, it may be wise to create a different character more suitable for your tastes.

So before you create your character we would like to know a little about you, there is a thread where new people can post to introduce their selves.

http://avatarrp.aforumfree.com/general-chat-f8/the-rp-introductions-t12.htm#12

That is the link, say your greetings! Get to know each other and so forth. There are a few things we would like to know before you join the world of Avatar Rping.

1. How committed will you be? (If you don’t think you will log on every other week let us know that) We will arrange you as a main character, but not as main as the people who are more active, if that makes any sense……we just don’t want anymore plot holes

2. Is this your first time RPing? If not, that’s a bonus, but if so, please let us know we will help you along the way.

3. What is your time zone?

4. How did you come about this place?

5. Anything else you would like to add?

6. Remember these questions you will answer will go in the Introduction Thread, please don’t post it in the rules. I hope you all have fun!

The Rules and Tips (Please read all of this before creating a character)

1. Character Creation: The First and Golden Rule, try and make a character that can be actually be placed in the Avatar world. For example, there’s no vampires in Avatar.

The key rule to character creating: Be realistic, Avatar realistic

Make an original character. This means that fictional or non-fictional characters outside of the Avatar Series will not be accepted. Any characters from other cartoons, Television, Movies, Books and anything else not listed here will not be accepted.

We will not accept Naruto as an Earth bender. Please be unique with your character description, we don’t want these since they are just copies of others works of art. They may have a certain characters descriptions to an extent, though they will not be that actual character.

Another major rule is the age of ones character. The age determines how skilled, experienced and strong the character will be.

For example a 12 year old will not be a master in any art of bending or any other skills. They may be decent, but they won’t be highly skilled. The older the person is the more the possibilities are widened due to the time to gain experience.

The background story of the character also helps determine how skilled one is. There are no weapons out of reach. Keep in mind it must be Avatar related, this means;

No guns, no magical weapons, and poison of any kind is an unfair advantage, and will only be used for major plots by the people in charge of the RP, and even then, it is not guaranteed it will be used.

If you make a good storyline for you're character and enough back-story for some of the stuff he/she has you can get away with breaking the rules a bit. This will be determined by the people in charge of the RP if the story is acceptable or not.

Characters may be skilled, but they will not be masters, of course this may change as the story progresses. This goes for all characters, they will or may grow and learn as time goes on.

Also no Gary and Mary Sues! If one is made, they will be edited to fit the standards, or deleted totally if the person refuses follow the rules. Take Mary Sues to fan-fiction.com, sorry we are just not fond of those characters.

Lastly, please don’t make your characters have too much background story with the actual Avatar characters. You cannot be Aang’s long lost brother, or have lived with Katara and Sokka, and then journeyed with them as they saved the Avatar.

If you must have relation with main characters keep it to a minimum, if you are unsure whether what you have planned is acceptable or not, please PM me or a RP mod. This is for the animated series Avatar The Last Airbender.

For having some sort of relation or acknowledgment of any RP character owned by a member or secondary character, please contact the member who you wish to be acquainted with or whatever it is you wanted to do with them. If the member agrees notify an RP moderator to see if they agree. The moderator makes the final confirmation, not you or the member. This is to avoid plot holes.

Please don’t post in someone’s character description thread, it will just flood the thread, if you must ask them something, praise their character or chastise them do so through a PM or in one of the OOC discussion threads.

* Also does your character side with the Fire Nation, the war of the Rebellion, or does he/she stay neutral in such a war. This doesn't necessarily mean they have to fight in the war if they side with one.

2. Fighting: All battles are ruled logically, which is why we have RP mods, to make it a fair match. There is no such thing as HP, MP, or Chakra in the battles.

The battles go on until one person accepts defeat, retreats, and or dies. This can go both ways, both people fighting can end up retreating, dying or accepting defeat. Also being knocked out, not as bad as death, one will still lose the battle, unless both characters become unconscious.

1.)The battle mod decides when you're character dies, loses, or becomes unconscious.

For example if someone attacks and injures the other character with a sword strike, it will be determined if it is a flesh wound, or a fatal wound.

2.)The battle mod decides if you're character is able to dodge a certain attack for example Character: "Rolls to the left to dodge the incoming spikes."

The mod would probably answer something like this: "Character roll is successful and you come out uninjured."

However if right after the roll another attack comes at you, like a surprise attack from another person and the character does this;

Character: “Rolls again to evade the attack"

The character may dodge it successfully, though it is unlikely, most likely the character will be injured in the attempt to dodge the surprise attack on short notice. Such as a flesh wound or fatal wound.

3.) Remember the sky is the limit when battling, the more descriptive an reaction and attack during the battle the better! Remember to keep the battle actions and reactions Avatar realistic, keep in mind that it must be an performance that the character would be able to do with their experience and skills.

For example a sword fighter will not be able to attack an earth bended rock and smash it into pieces.

Or a person won’t be able to grab a launched rock and throw it back, of course depending on the size of the character and the size of the rock and the force it was sent it may be.

4.) You and the person you are RP fighting against cannot control their characters.

For example

Character 1: *Runs up to Character 2*

Character 2: *Attacks Character 1 with a fire blast, the heat was so powerful, Character 1 stumbled backwards as he held his face from the heat.*

You cannot do that, it is against the rules, the other person must react to what was performed, you cannot perform their reaction for them, it is cheating and not fair.

5.) No God Modding! It is not fair to others, if your character is indestructible, has never been hurt, cannot be hurt, and can burst mountains when he sneezes. If one is caught god modding, notify a RP mod, we will set them straight. There’s nothing more boring then fighting a brick wall.

There is a difference between god modding and an inexperienced person fighting a master to sum that up.

6.) Traps, if you have a trap or plot of a trick, which would require preparation before the current events, such as preparing for an ambush further down the road, or setting traps before a battle. You must first notify a RP mod, it may or not be accepted depending on how farfetched the trap is. This is to stop those RPer’s who end up making god mod traps on the go as they become cornered, if you are cornered with no plans of a trap prior to the event, you will most likely lose.

However, bluffing is a form of trickery that is rather easy to come up with and is fine, keep in mind a bluff is just what it is, a bluff, a lie and nothing else.

3: Death in The RP:
Yes it is true, it can happen. A series of members have already died, for different reasons. Let’s say a giant rock falls on a given character, he will must likely be dead. There is no way around that. If your character happens to die for any reason, you may create a new character to continue with the RP.

Death of characters rarely happens, it will be decided by the RP Mods, if one dies or lives. However don’t fret too much, the deaths we have had in the RP were due to people being absent for over a year, so don’t worry too much about death. They were killed to take them out of the major plot.

4.) As Time Goes on:
Yes as time goes on, characters will grow older, as of now the story takes place in Book 2 of Spring, but in no means crosses paths with the actual Book 2 story line.

Characters will become more experienced, skillful, and stronger as the story progresses. However this is limited to many characters. A young character will not be any of those three compared to an adult or older character.

Another thing is the activity of the user, it matters not if they were a kid or adult character, inactivity results in the same skills, experience, and strength that they were when they last logged on.

With that being said, considering your activity rate is decent, your character may and will grow.

5.) RPing Tips:
A. When in RP and you wish to speak out of character you must do the following:
Use this term OOC, which means Out of Character.

For example

*Character attacks.*

OOC: Guys! I got to go to the bathroom be right back!

No breaking the fourth wall without an OOC before what is typed.

B. Use quotations for when the character speaks, like so.

Character: “Hi guys!”

C. Asterisk are used when explaining something in detail which is not the character speaking, like this.

*The boulder flew up in the air and collided into the ground.* or you could do this.
(The boulder flew up in the air and collided into the ground.) To use parenthesis instead

D. Although this is not needed, you can use this, IC, which means In character. It basically goes right after an OOC statement to signal that the character is now back in character.

E. If you don’t agree with how someone performed an action or reaction, or they misinterpreted what you meant, please use an OOC statement to tell them to correct it. Don’t complain and flame the person, this will ruin the RP experience for them as well as others who were there at the time.

If you must go into detail, notify an RP mod or the actual person through a personal message.

F. In the posting page, there are a variety of colors to choose from, besides the neutral red color. Choose any color that a certain character is not using yet, to claim it as your character’s color.

For example Ryuzaki’s text is dark blue while Lee’s text is orange. It adds to the story instead of reading the mundane neutral red text.

G. Lastly the Final touches of the text. When speaking as your character add their name before the text.

For example: Bob: “Hi everyone!”

Italics for when someone speaks is universal. So it would be much appreciated if you would do so.

For example: Bob: “Hi everyone!

Whenever describing anything in the post which is in the asterisks like this

*The rock skyrocketed in the sky.*
It would also be appreciated if it was bolded.

Text color, italics for quotes and bold font for descriptions is not mandatory but it really helps move the RP along, it is more interesting to see clean and smooth text then bland text.

H. Grammar and Spelling! This is the biggest issue we have had with a lot of our past members, please spell correctly and use proper grammar. Nothing is more of an RP killer then trying to decipher and figure out what someone was typing. Spell check is your friend, use it all the time.

If you don’t have fire fox that has spell check enabled on the internet, it would be wise to download it, since internet explorer is far inferior to Fire fox.

6.) Currency in The RP:
Recently there has been currency added to the RP, in order to maintain balance of things that can be purchased and what cannot. In the Profile of the username there will be Health bars, which can range from zero to a really large digit. As of now, only a few of the RPer’s have currency for their characters. It will be determined how much currency your character starts off with depending on their wealth as they enter the story.

Currency is used to stop people from purchasing anything and everything in the RP. It is used to maintain balance. Things that would cost money are weapons, food, and many other accessories.

When something is purchased, money will be taken away, depending what it is. Let’s say you buy a short sword, which cost 20 copper pieces and you had 30 copper pieces, you would now only have 10.

With that being said, currency does not rule the RP and it is only a minor rule so that people will not buy countless items, weapons and traps. It is to restrain such unfair advantages.

Read this! If you edit the amount of money you have, let’s say you had 10, and decided to pull a fast one and edit it to 100, you will get a penalty point. Also, if you notice someone else doing the same thing, tell them to re-edit it, if they refuse to listen notify a RP Mod, through PM.

If you gain penalty points through different means of cheating and disrespect of others, as the points accumulate your character will be taken out of the RP for an extended amount of time.

7.) OOC Discussion Threads: If you are unsure about what to do, have a question, idea or want to debate about the RP, the OOC Discussion threads are for you. The forum for it is the last link know as RP Discussion thread. Also if you must explain something in a lot of detail or which could take more then one post of OOC with no RPing in it’s place use the RP Discussion forums.

Re: Avatar Episodes Forums

Post by Lee Tamotsu on April 12th 2009, 7:39 pm

8.) Plot Holes: No matter what anyone says, plot holes are not your friend. If you have read a previous thread, character description or past tense RP story and were not involved in them, your character will not know about the plot or stories that went on in the given thread. We have had to fix countless plot holes, so please don’t add to them if it’s possible.

9.) Background Stories: These are stories that add to the character description but are not in the character profile. Below are a few links of what I am referring to, please read this if you are interested in adding a background story.

http://bazais.site-forums.com/earth-kingdom-f2/the-bloody-bandits-t93.htm

http://bazais.site-forums.com/earth-kingdom-f2/coal-t55.htm

http://bazais.site-forums.com/earth-kingdom-f2/midnight-rain-t37.htm
^ This link was from our old site before it bite the dust, that is why is seems very bland to the others.

http://bazais.site-forums.com/fire-nation-f3/childhoods-past-t108.htm

Keep in mind that it should be detailed, and should not be typed in present tense, it should be in past tense.

Please before posting your story, send it to a RP mod, who will then post it for you, they will tell you whether your story is acceptable or not.

Keep plot holes out of stories, to do so, read the threads, or ask an RP mod, about any question you may have about this.

Background stories are not needed in order to join the RP, but they are surely welcomed if they have no plot holes and are approved by the RP mod, failure to notify an Mod about your idea, posting it with plot holes, and flat out having a poorly done version will be deleted on the spot.

If everything is good to go, please make your story detailed, give it as much description to your heart contents, a short story background of three sentences is just spam to say the least. So make it thread worthy other wise if it cannot be longer then a paragraph keep it in the character description.

Keep the story in the mind of the character you are portraying in the given thread, do not break the fourth wall to explain anything to the people who may read the thread. If they don’t understand, it’s due to it being a unknown plot or being poorly descriptive.

What not to do.
View and read the two links listed below.

http://bazais.site-forums.com/earth-kingdom-f2/plot-signifcant-coal-redone-t114.htm

http://bazais.site-forums.com/earth-kingdom-f2/karins-rnak-in-coal-t96.htm

This both are of the same kind of plot, not only that, they are breaking the fourth wall. The grammar to say the least is pretty ill prepared, and the whole layout of the thread story is unorganized spatially, spelling and grammar are very poor.

These two threads were also done without notifying any of us members that this certain member wanted to implement it in the story. If it was done with correct spelling, grammar, and asked before acting it would have been different. So keep in mind to have neatness and to ask to add stories before posting them, we are not trying to sound like a strict forum, it is just a pain when we have to deal with 60 different cases of this, and to say the least, these stories are not accepted. It may also interfere with the plots in the past, current plots, and plots in the future that have yet to be implemented but are going to happen.

10.) The Dreadful One Liner Curse:
There is nothing worst then RPing with someone who can only make one liners, it’s very boring for other members. It also leaves less room for possible RPing with that person. For example

Jack: “Hey Bob! How are you doing today?”

Bob: “Hi.”

Not only did Bob ignore what Jack said, he made a horrible one liner which left no room for Jack to respond to Bob. The thing is, please keep each post very descriptive, it doesn’t have to be a lot of lines, at least a few sentences. Keep in mind to respond both with description and quotes.

Below is a better version of what Bob should do.

Jack: “Hey Bob! How are you doing today?”

*Bob turns around to see Jack was speaking to him.*

Bob: “Oh hey Jack! I’m doing well, lovely weather we’re having today isn’t it?”

By adding a few more sentences and descriptions the conversation is more interesting and not as much of a wet blanket. Jack even has the opportunity to reply back to Bob keeping the conversation going on.

11.) Time to Shine:
Everyone will have their time to shine, so don’t feel disappointed or sad if you are not in the spot light, also don’t hog the spot light either. Everyone is equal in the RP meaning as the person, not the character, so treat everyone the way you would want to be treated yourself.

This RP is done by everyone’s post, for example if you posted “Hi Bob!” you must wait for Bob to reply until doing something else. Each person takes their turn to post in the RP, it is not a race to see who can post the most in any given minute, whether it be attacking or talking. Please give that person some time to read, act, react and post the message, before you post another action. This has happened a lot in the RP so far and we don’t want this form of RPing it is very disorganized, confusing and, ends up being a nuisance and a bore.

You can’t alter the plot, whether you know what the plot is or not, (speaking in the user not the character) Only the mod can move along crucial or minor plots, unless stated otherwise. Although, you can post any reaction or action that stays within the range limits of Avatar and skills.

12.) Inactivity:
This is where our little community has had a lot of problems, with inactivity. A few of our users, now long gone, for unexplained reasons, have left in the middle of serious plots and the such. As you can imagine that is quite a pain to deal with.

A.) A Week of Inactivity: This is where the selected user is inactive for five or seven days. If their character was prompted to do a small scale action or small talk of some kind, and they have been inactive for roughly a week action will be taken. The moderator with the approval of the member(s) who were interacting with the character, will move along the scene by playing as the character through the small take or small scale action (small scale is not fights or the such, that would be Large Scale Action)

B.) Inactive Fight: This is where the user is inactive for their own fight. Action will take place with the approval of the member(s) who were interacting with the character. The fight will be moved along after roughly a week and half and two weeks. Though the character will only be moved for small scale fights. A large scale fight would be that of crucial plot moment or plot changing moment. Which will take place whenever every agrees to move on to the next stage.

C.) A Month of Inactivity: This is when the character is absent for over a month or more. In which case with the approval of everyone the character will be moved along by the moderator through all aspects of RPing, until the person comes back, in which case the character will be given back to the original creator.

If the character is not needed for the plot anymore, is not a crucial character, and hasn't been very active at all, and has unfortunately been placed in the plot somehow. It is up to the community whether he/she will remain within the story, or will be taken out by means of leaving, serious injury, or death.

D.) Stay In Character: If a moderator or member has to play as one of the other members character, remember to stay in character of that person's character. Read the character description thread as well as reading RP posts to figure out what kind of personality they gave the character.

E.) Explained Inactivity: This relates to A-C of the inactive rules. If the user gives notice of their leave and for how long they will be gone, then the story will wait until they come back, if they are in the plot for the moment. However depending how long they plan to be gone, the community can vote on playing as their character until they come back.

F.) Spot Lighting: This term refers roughly to a theater when a spotlight shines onto one of the characters. The term applies to those character besides the moderators (for certain reasons) that directs the attention of every member/character in the scene or most members. All eyes are on them for some reason now. However inactivity of the spot lighting character causes those members who replied in response to an action of some kind by that character to be at a halt until the spot lighting character returns.

This is not a problem when the spot lighting character returns to the site every other day. Although when the character does not show up every other day, it causes a problem as the whole RP is now at a dead stop. As a result moderators are allowed to cut out posts by that inactive spot lighting character if they see it fit. This also applies to members who are active on the forum, but show no activity in the RP section. If the character responds to inactivity by an OOC statement referring to why they may be inactive, then moderation will be postponed until a later date.

Members who are often more active then others will be given more time and treatment as those who are regularly or commonly inactive. As a result those who are more common to inactivity will be given less time to moderation as those who are more active.

13.) The RP Time Chart:

^ Read the first post of this link to the thread for a more detailed version of the time chart. The chart is where you post your weekly schedule every week, so that we may now when if needed, when to arrange a get together for an extended RP session or a meeting of some kind which would need a long debated discussion.
Phew! It took forever to type those lol!

The music box has been removed from the homepage due to loading problems and time outs.

Instead if you wish to listen to the music still, you can access it through this thread page or directly at this link.

http://avatarrp.aforumfree.com/guest-lounge-f28/character-template-t135.htm

A new addition has been added to the RP side of the forum! Check the link above for the actual thread regarding the issue.

Below is what the new addition is. This is the character template that will help new and old members and RPers alike understand easily with less confusion how to make their character. No one has to follow this sheet, but if one feels they need an extra boost to get them started feel free to use the existing template!

Name: (Character name)

Age: (Current age of your character)

Visual Age: (How old your character looks like)

Gender: (Male or female.)

Bending: (Your character does not need to be a bender)

Other Skills: (Which wouldn't go under bending. Ex: An archer

Personality: (Everyone has a general personality, post your character’s in a paragraph form)

Appearance: (What your character looks like. An image will do also.)

History/Background: (Be as thorough as possible, because this will be looked at closely. Explain how your character interacts with the war. Are they against it, enforce it, or neutral. Also what side do they belong to. Are they part of the rebellion, this doesn't mean they are in an organization just that they don't believe in the Fire Nations motives. Are they part of the Fire Nation? Or do they stay out of the war totally?)

^ Just because the majority is either against the Fire Nations motives or neutral does not mean you have to be as well. You can pick any of the three you wish to be. As of now we don't have any of the real members being affiliated with the Fire Nation or groups of enemies. So if you would wish to be an enemy do so. However the moderators will discuss the roles of the enemy further with you if you wish to be one.

CODE
Name:

Age:

Visual Age:

Gender:

Bending:

Other Skills:

Personality:

Appearance:

History/Background:

Personality should have at least be a full paragraph.

History needs to be no shorter then a paragraph. If it's a serious background of some kind make it believable by adding more paragraphs to it.

Often we get members who make something like this.
(Was banished from family and treated horribly. Then they met someone and they died to. Now they are sad and a strong bender.) Please elaborate on it. We know that tragedy makes for an interesting story, but if it's not done right, like the one above it just get's corny and is a dime a dozen.

Please post you characters here

Earlier today the site witnessed a re-directing issue, where the whole site directed towards a foreign site.

Apparently a family relative of mine, unbeknown to me, edited in a different title and address for the forum.

The situation has now been taken care of and I now have a lock on my personal computer to make sure such a foolish move doesn't happen.

I apologize for the inconvenience this might of had on any member or guest.

The chat box feature has been added and is only available to members. It is located at the bottom of the main forum homepage.

Several smiles have been added to the normal section and a new section the holiday smiles has been added for all those common and famous holidays!

Below the users online feature, is a new addition the time logged on period. This feature will show what members have been logged on for the last five hours. This does not show the guests however.

The portal is at last added! This feature has it's own page. Here you can see the most recent posts in a scrolling feature, an in depth post by post for the most famous forum section and many more common features.

The music box has been added again to the bottom page of the portal. Several other songs have been added to the playlist.

Our newest members are Sakeage and Seeven Fry.

Enjoy this new and large update! Have a great memorials day! For what's left of it!

There have been several updates new/moderation over the course of the months I have not posted. I have been extremely busy and kept forgetting to do so, I apologize for the lack of notification. Life can be pretty crazy every so often.

Ok! So here I go!

- A new section has been added, below Guest Lounge, Affiliated Sites! This is the place where sites that may possibly relate to our forum are added. Only Admins/Moderators may create topics/post/edit in there. This is so we don't have any unruly members posting a not so appropriate site as an affiliated one.

We will get the permission of the site and if everything is set, a topic will be created for the place will a link and information. If a member has an idea of a site they can post it here in the Affiliated Sites Suggestion topic located in General Chat.

http://avatarrp.aforumfree.com/general-chat-f8/affiliated-sites-t192.htm

Keep in mind it may or may not be accepted depending on it's whether it's content is suitable for younger audiences or the actually relates to the site in some way.

- Due to some trouble locating sections used frequently that have been combined into a main page, they have now gained their own spots in the Main Homepage. Avatar Related, Artist Lounge, and Game Section are no longer inside of General Chat.

- A new section in the Filler RP Page has been added, the Filler Graveyard. This is where all filler RPs that have been locked or lost activity for over a month have been placed. This is to clean up the cluttered mess in the other sections.

- A new section to the Main RP has been added, the C.O.A.L Headquarters section. Inside of it consists of Headquarter Exterior, Apartment Complex, Authority Sleep Quarters, Main Headquarters, Mess Hall, Training Ground, Medical Lab, and Research Lab.

Post by Lee Tamotsu on February 17th 2010, 2:28 pm

In an attempt to gain more viewers I have been working and planning on new ways to work with the forum to be more suitable with viewing guests.

Some sections have been reorganized to be of better use and possibly less confusing to members and browsing guests. They are all now in a better place, where guests can find all of the needed information at the respectful place.

-Information and Rules
RPing 101 - Accepted Characters - Inactive Members - The Grave Yard

-If you're new to RPing, hop on by to RPing 101, where you can come to experience the different interactions whether it be learning how to socialize, fight, or interact.

-The character section has also been modified so it is more clean. Inactive members character's will be placed in the Inactive Member section and the Grave Yard is where characters who have fallen in the RP are placed.

-The quick log in feature has been added so that logging in is easier and less time consuming.

-The Affiliated section has been discontinued as I currently have come to realize that the Portal has such features that are more professionally done.

Wow it has been such a long time since I’ve been here. Anyway, this forum of mine and our community is still going on, even if it may be small.

A lot has been changed about it, so I think it’s only best to state in a new post all of the new and old features, because a lot of the old features have also been modified.

It also is still undergoing a lot of changes, because this forum used to replicate an older forum that the creator originally created for our community. However we moved on from that forum when it underwent difficulties.

The layout of both (because they were basically clones) was aesthetically unpleasing, so we at Avatar Episodes Forum are molding it into a more desirable layout. (It is definitely due time for it)

The layout and coloring of the forum has also changed, only because we thought that the original layout was to unappealing and gloomy for our community’s taste and the theme of the forum.
We also have a portal section, which features a Playlist list of music from Avatar and other tracks from famous video games and shows.
Here you can see the most recent posts, a section of our affiliates, statistics, a who is online panel, and much more (when I get around to implementing the features)

Our posting legends have recently changed to better suit what our forum actually relates to. We came to the conclusion that our previous legends did not explain our forum well, nor did our navbar images.

Both navbar icons and legend icons have been changed. The legends are that of the Avatar elemental icons with minor edits to easily differentiate them from new and old posts.

The navbar icons are no longer images and simply professional buttons, listing which each link redirects to.

This is just but one of the many edits to come to our transforming forum, we hope you enjoy your visit!

Been working on the forum a lot! Trying to give it those final little tweaks or big ones!

Fire Nation

Air Temple
Southern Air Temple - Western Air Temple - Eastern Air Temple - Northern Air Temple

Water Tribe
Southern Water Tribe - Northern Water Tribe - Foggy Swamp Tribe

The bolded parts, are parts of the forum categories that have been moved or created. The filler RP section has been moved to a better suitable position, where it would be more desired.

In order to clean up and organize the General Lounge category (where everything else about forum discussion goes) Life and You and Forum Related have been added. Now searching for a certain thread should be much easier and less cluttered.

A navigation bar has been created for the gallery section and for new messages, which is titled as Mail Alert. There was a previous new message bar, but it was difficult to differentiate from the others and many members were unaware of new messages that they had. Now instead of being a cool purple/blue, the new message bar is a bright and vibrant red. That should be much easier to spot, we apologize for the inconvenience.

The gallery feature has been implemented, where fan art of our shows, our RolePlays, or any other art can be submitted. All art must be approved by our active Admin or moderators. This may come as an inconvenience, but for now it will have to be this way, until we see fit that this new feature will not be abused.

For now there is only one category for the gallery, Avatar RP FanArt, with more to come in the near future ranging from TV series fan-art and original art.

http://avatarrp.aforumfree.com/t268-avatar-rp-quiz-time

We even have a flash based game, which I created, with a lot of help/advice from the kind members of the Forumotion support forum (thank you very much!) This flash game is just a simple quiz based on the Avatar RP.

While we understand this has a limited range for our audience, I am also currently working on a simple flash based quiz game about the actual animated series. We hope you look forward to it! Both these flash games are currently WIP, but are playable as of now.

We even have a wiki page dedicated to our Avatar RP ranging from the characters, landscapes, arcs, and chapters. There is even a refined series of chapters about the RP, which is also a WIP, on FanFiction.net.

I am not sure if hosting these links on here is allowed. So if you're interested I would gladly send you a PM with those links. Hope you enjoy these new features!

The RP Filler forum has two new additions. If one must make fan-fiction of the RP, it shall go here from here on out.

A few of the post legend icons have been changed color and transparency wise to be more visible, lively, and vibrant.

There is a scrolling message, which has been implemented onto the main forum. Here you can read up on the latest news to keep updated!

There have been two flash based quizzes created. One for the Avatar RP and another for the actual ATLA series. If you think you're up for the challenge, hop on by the forum Game Section under the thread Avatar RP Quiz Time!

A latest topic widget has been added to the left side, so that members can know when new posts or topics are created. This shall be easier to catch up on the latest posts then having to navigate through the entire forum.

I feel that there are more updates...but I can't seem to remember them. We hope you enjoy your stay or visit! There will always be more updates to come, as this is a forum in the progress, enjoy!

Bold sections have either been newly created or have name changes.

The Avatar Game section is to host our flash based games paying homage to both Avatar the original series and our Avatar RP.

Here you can play both Avatar and Avatar RP quizzes, with a limited amount of questions. Test your luck to see if you can beat the Fire Nation or succumb to it's tyrannical clutches.

We also have a game created called Swords and Shields, a game based off of TicTacToe and conceived from an Avatar RolePlay thread. Unfortunately only members can play the exclusive Avatar Games section.

Our banner has recently changed from it's original source, to keep the forum more lively and fresh. We also have changed our forum's background to a never-ending sky cycle full of blue gradients, clouds, and flying bisons and lemurs.

Our forum's background colors have recently changed to sky blue, to better suit the wall paper and banner designs. We have also changed our posting legend icons and navigation bar buttons to a light blue color and design.

The moderator legends are now visible and we have recently created more titles in order for all parts of the forum to be under moderation in case anything should happen.

[ Administrators ] [ Global Moderator ] [ RolePlay Moderator ] [ Guest Moderator ] [ Artist Critic ] [ Game Master ]

And lastly codes have been used to bevel and smooth the background edges, as the jagged box design was less welcoming...we hope you enjoy these edits and your visit!

Minor edits to the forum categories layout and new sections added! The Non_Avatar RolePlay Hub now has it's own category, away from the Avatar RolePlay hub. If you're itching for a RolePlay to make or play and it's not related to Nickelodeon's hit-series Avatar, hop on board over here!

Other Fandom has been created in the General Lounge for all topics which didn't or won't necessarily relate to it's brother categories. Want to create a topic about Spongebob, Transformers, or maybe TMNT? Well this is the place for you!

The Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, Air Temples, and Water Tribe and their territorial locations have now all been squeezed into the Avatar The Lost Book category so as to not take up space in the homepage layout. These threads all relate to various Avatar The Last Airbender RolePlays which any and all are welcome to take part in. (As long as everyone plays nicely and follows any rules that may be in effect of a particular RolePlay)

A new post legend icon has been created! Are you a big fan of the giant fuzzy Appa? Well we have miniature balls with Avatar arrows! We're currently still in the process of adding little brown cute horns to finish it up! But for now enjoy the cuteness!

Beveled edges of the forum reach all ends of the corners (no pun intended...) and the entire layout of the forum has changed. The colors are now a white and gray gradient, with no sky background (because it looked horrendous) or a banner.

We've had two banners since our original, both which were great, but lacked that finishing detail. Currently in the process of finding a new banner for our forum or a lettering style to depict us and our forum accurately.

Simple make overs for the forum design yet again. A few theme and color changes!

http://www.avatarepisodesrp.com/t284-swords-and-shields-a-tictactoe-game

http://www.avatarepisodesrp.com/t364-the-yuyan-archers-wip

A new section has been created within The Game Room Avatar Games! This will be where several flash based ATLA and LOK games will be created. Every game has and will be made by the members of the forum.

There are just two games so far, Swords and Shields, a Tic-Tac-Toe based game created by the Fire Nation during the 100 year long war. If war has taught us anything, it is often embedded into culture when prolonged.

And the YuYan Archers make a guest appearance in their very own archery shooter game. Join these elites as they travel through the world of Avatar unveiling the secrets that may aid the Fire Nation to victory!
