Thank You Button...

Post by Guest on Fri Mar 20, 2009 2:29 am

First topic message reminder :

Currently the Thank You button that has been provided only allows a member who created a topic to thank the user who wrote the message that it considers most appropriate.

Can it be provided the other way round - It should allow other members to thank the member who created a topic, with something useful in it, for other members.

Here is our sites URL: www.signature-forums.com

We have Videos and Written Updates and Latest News Articles being posted on a daily basis on our forum. And at times members just end up posting a simple 'THANK YOU' in their post. This takes up our space plus ends up in topics being spammed too.

Hence, in order to avoid spamming and our space from being wasted and lastly and most importantly to encourage members to make some useful posts on our forum, we'd prefer the thank-you button the way i have suggested above (in bold).

Can this be done for our forum or maybe for everyone (however its convenient)?

@netsniper wrote:Hi Guys can some let me know if what I have written below is what you are asking for here? as I don't want to open a topic if its the same? I do believe that my request would be different to what is being asked here ?????

I want to know if some how I/we could do what is done on the Image below ? it allows all members to use the Thanks button and to thank who they wish? at present it is only the original poster who can use the thanks button, but as we all know once a post has been made then other members come along and reply and sometimes the reply they make is very good and maybe better than the original poster has made, as you can see below not only does it allow for all to say thanks to who they want but it also shows who has said thanks .

I also support you "netsniper"

I disagree. because the thread starter gives information to other members, the thread starter would not thank someone who says "thank you" to him. i mean what if the information of the thread starter is valuable?would the thread starter thank the people he gave information with?other members should thank the TS for the valuable information. why not let posters and thread starters thank anyone? i hope this post could be noticed by the thread starter. thanks.

The idea is to be able to thank those who may have added some useful information as well as the TS, as you know in some cases a post is started and information is added by others which is sometimes very informative or more accurate, so it these posters that should also be thanked

Thank you Hello

@netsniper: you are welcome!
@Nick23: please don't think this is personal, but I have to tell you that netsniper is absolutely right,and you misunderstand the point of help button!
It 's supposed to to do what netsniper has told:
