avatar-link to off site url

i seem to be having a problem. on my board when you want to put an avatar up it will not let you link to an off site avatar. say i use a link from photobucket it just gives the standard "removed or over the limit" photobucket icon. i've even tried using a avatar within the size limit of 64kb and it does the same thing. i'm not over my limit as i pay for my photobucket account.

i'm not 100% sure how the upload avatar to the board thing works. but i don't want a bunch of people uploading and then it taking up space. i'd also like my members to be able to link to an off site avatar so that they could have something that may be a little bigger than the 64KB.


is this an issue with certain board types? is there a way to turn this on or off and i don't know about it? please help i want the link to off site avatar option to work for myself and my members.

It does say this

Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width cannot exceed 150 pixels, the height cannot exceed 200 pixels, and the file size cannot be higher than 64 KB.

i do understand that. but it won't let you link to an off site avatar at all. even when it's under those requirements. that was my question. does the link to OFF SITE avatar not work at all on these boards.

Probably photobucket does not allows hotlinking

wow! that worked! i never knew that about photobucket. the strange thing is on these type of boards in other places i have been able to do that. use my photobucket link and the avatar show up.

is tiny pic the only place we can use? or would like imageshack work as well?
