Multiple themes for our sites?
Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
There are some forums that allow you to use more then one template, the user can choose which look they want, we should do that with our sites!

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
I can see people telling you to use the skin selector code that they have in the Tips & Tricks. But those same people realize many will not understand how to do it.

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
It's already been suggested here but since it's not been refused by the technicians, I'll keep this one up, a built in one would be nice from my coded one.

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
Hello,
I would say no
REASON:
First:
server lag(small but since much users would use different themes(depending on size of your community...that wouldn't be sucha a good idea since that would be added to all editboards hosted boards... so yes lag)
Second:
Editboard gives great services but, but only one minus to it is that we can't modify our templates system by uploading REAL templates( just by modifying SOME imgs and colors), so we would need to make a lots of custom templates by OURSELVES.(Ever thinked of that one?)
Third:
If you guys really breaked your b*** like me in making really good template(used all sorts of programs from flash to java to html hehe ) lol would you want your user to just switch it that easy hehe.
my answer is NO
Regards,
Finvarra

I voted yes, we definitely need this. The skin changer script is OK, but you can't change the buttons and header, only the colours and background.
As it's a feature of phpBB anyway, I wouldn't think it is too much of a challenge for the technicians...

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
well i think as i can recall that script exists somewhere in Tips&Tricks sections...
Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
Yeah it does, however whilst it is good for changing the forum colours, you can't change the buttons or header image. This is why I think an in-built skin changer is a fab idea.

Awesome! Hopefully this goes through, do the technicians actually consider this stuff?

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
I have used and operated multiple forums and a good portion of those locations allowed for multiple themes. It can be time consuming waiting for new themes however, If our members are able to select from the themes we already have at our disposal it would make them feel more at home with the forums. Now with the multiple themes selection you can select the 'default' theme for the forum. so if you created a custom theme for your boards and you wanted it as the general theme then you could simply select (again) the default selection and it would remain the 'main' theme. If a member wanted to change their theme then they would be able to select from a list. Its that simple.
So, even if you did have a custom theme your members could still use it or another theme. All in all I voted yes, honestly because I'm surprised they have not already done so....

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
I'll vote yes. It would be nice to have more than one theme for the users to enjoy.

i do not want to change just css i want to change EVERYTHING.
You see i have a gaming forum and i want to create game spesific themes so users can choose their favorite game(like street fighter for example) and a theme is created for it(or found thanks to hotskin) but thanks for that as it will be usefull
but unfortunatly that link dosn't work

Re: Multiple Theme/Skin Selection 4 Members
I voted yes as a lot of people on my forum come online whilst at work. A Work friendly skin would be good so it looks a bit more inconspicuous when other work colleagues are walking by
I too tried the link and i get the message
