Activating Donations

There are two ways to add a donation link to your forum.

    The First Way

The 'catchiest' is placing a button in the Homepage Message or in a widget that links to the donation page for your forum. If you don't know what the link to the donation page is, then here's the link:
http://YOURFORUMURL.com/donate.forum
You can easily change that link into a button that, when clicked, will direct a user to the donation page of your forum.
Here's a button you can use if you do not have one:

http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/13/67/77/07/donate11.png
Now, in order to make that button turn into a link to the donation page of your forum, you must use this code:
Code:
<a href="http://YOURFORUMURL.com/donate.forum" target="_blank" title="Donate to us!"><img src="http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/13/67/77/07/donate11.png" border="0"></a>

If you would like to use your own donation button that you created or found, then just edit the <img src="" tag by adding the link to the image you want.
Okay, now that you have your link, button, or whatever, it's time to place this bad boy in nice, compatible area on your forum- either your Homepage Message or a widget.
If you want to place the button/link in your Homepage Message:
  1. Administration Panel
  2. Display tab
  3. Homepage -> Generalities
  4. And the Homepage Message management should be under the Homepage message section on that page. Just paste the button code/link to the donation page in the message body, and Save.
    After that, head to your forum to see if it shows up in the Homepage Message under the navigation bar.

Now, if you want the button/link in just a plain widget on the sidebar:
  1. Administration Panel
  2. Modules tab
  3. Portal & Widgets -> Forum widgets management
  4. Create a Custom Block (found under the Forum widgets management on that page)
  5. Paste the button code/link to the donation page in the source body, and give the widget a name such as 'Donate to us!', 'Contribution', or something like that. Save.
  6. Head back to the Forum widgets management page, and click the 'Personal widgets' button (right under where the 'Create a custom block' button is found'.) Drag your Donation widget you just made up onto either side of that widgets box, and save. If you have your widgets enabled (Forum widgets management -> Display forum widgets : Yes... and also have either one of the columns set to 180px), then the Donation widget should show up on either side of the forum (depending on which side of the forum you placed the widget on... and you must have that side of the forum's column as 180px.)

It should appear as something like this:

    The Second Way

If you believe that the first way of having your donation link shown off isn't enough, then why don't you add a link to forum's footer? In order to do so:
  1. Administration Panel
  2. Credits management -> Donations
  3. Display the link to the donation page on page footer: Yes. Validate. Once doing this, the 'Contribution' (donaton) link will appear on the footer of your forum. Where would that be, you might ask? Look on your forum's index and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the forum. If you enabled donations for this second way, then the 'Contribution' link should appear just like this:

For maximum exposure, why not you enable donations both ways as stated above? Also, you should post an announcement thread somewhere on your forum asking for users to donate as well.
Donations can only be paid with via Paypal or Allopass (phone.)
Cheers
