somehow disable flood control when editing posts

Post by AiKirika on August 19th 2009, 8:08 am

First topic message reminder :

it should be possible to edit your own posts without the flood control takes action....

it often annoys you when you post ... notice that you made a typo... or forgot to add some little word(s)....
but it doesnt let you post a correction... without you having to wait 30 sec

so... if it is somehow possible....
it would be very nice... if forumotion could change that...
(maybe on everyone else's forums as well)

Bump.
I seriously don't see why the delay is STILL at 45 seconds, that's still inconsiderate. (Thats 3/4th of a minute)

Maybe atleast drop it back to 25-30 seconds. Please T_T

Doesn't look like its going to drop. We did this to stop spammers and flooding.

In that case, I must admit, I'm confused.

What spam is going on?
1 post, and if it's a spam bot, they wont edit their posts, so it's pointless to have it, I must admit it.

Bump...even reducing it 5 seconds, down to 40 would be an achievement.

Is this going to be actually rejected within 2 years?

I, too, personally find this flood limit quite annoying. If I've provided the wrong answer to a support question, I would want to edit the mistake as fast as I can. However, the 45 second delay makes it highly likely for the member to have read my post by then.

On the other hand, I can understand why it's that high and it's quite effective against spammers and such. I have decided not to vote on this matter. Wink

After a long and painful meeting, we have pushed the flood control from 45 to 30 seconds.
