Censor spam links

First topic message reminder :

Hello,

I'd like to suggest that we censor the links that the recent spammers have been uselessly spamming us with.

For example when they use the text "(Intel Version or Power PC Version)" [linked of cause] it would show up as censored of some way, either the text changed, or the URL its self censored.

Iv just tried this and have found out that you cannot censor more than 16 characters, so I suggest that we censor a part of the link, and allow the wild card thing ( The * ) to censor and remove links

I think it's 'bout time we kick them back to where they came from

Typlo has already done this but its failing because the links change. If you have a better idea we are all open to new idea's.

I would think to use the word censoring tool. That is similar to what Neowin does.

Project honey pot is open source and seems to offer some ways to combat spammers http://www.projecthoneypot.org/index.php whether it is of benifit to our forums or not remains to be seen, maybe forumotion could look at it as a general application

internetserviceteam.com is one of the big spam bot nets that is currently in opperation, some anti-spam programs are able to block it from hacking your PC ...Malewarebytes and a few others are effective at blocking it.

How about censoring the common words they use, for example 'Video converter" and such, surely that isn't hard to do?

I have no problems censoring spam links. I don't see why Forumotion couldn't.

I voted yes because spammers do get annoying >.>.
Could also prevent some viruses to some of our more younger forum owners .

Surely we can censor individual words can we not?

DVD (what use do we have to that?)
How to rip
API
DVD Ripper
and so forth.

They already censor Spam Links, the problem is you can't censor it before it comes out

And for the record, my standards require a 50 > 0
