It's nice that you like his forum's statistics and everything, but try to keep comments like these in forum presentation threads or in a considerate PM to the member. Wink

Completed Fuji Planet Review

Post by Master Marc on November 6th 2009, 6:29 am

Your Forum Review
Fuji Planet.net

Generalities

  1. First Impressions (Score: 5/20):
All it took was one click, ( fujiplanet.net ) , and I got to the homepage. I have to agree with your members, the homepage created by Jalokim does not match your forum, . And, Mr Mega, you need it changed or edited. You should edit it a little more, instead of just adding information of your forum, ect... You can think that your homepage and forum are two different websites if you don't read the information correctly. And the information google found from the meta tags, they did not impress me, . It advertised Jalo's "Cribblealpha" more than it advertised your forum. And, this is the first thing a guest will view when they click the link of your forum.

  2. Categories & Forums (Score: 9/10):
Now, while browsing your forums, I've noticed a little mistakes that shouldn't be seen in forums...
First, the staff room shouldn't be displayed to guest or members even if they can't read or write topics in there. It's for your own security. ( But, am not going to minus marks from you for that, )
Second, the "Fun & Games" sub-forum should be removed from the "General Discussion" forum, because fun and games" are not really general discussions.

Generalities total: 14/30

Forum Style

  1. Banner & Navigation Bar (Score: 10/10):
The banner looks great with the forum's style. Transparent, I see... It's a perfect banner for an orange theme like that one and it fits great with the header of your forum. The navigation menu also looks great. Those circular edges brings them out. Also, the font looks nice and simple. All of the navigation buttons are attached to each other, that's what I like the most about them. And, the way they both are transparent to the background's header of your forum. I see total marks here.

  2. Forum Layout & Color Scheme (Score: 9.5/10):
The forum's layout looks fine from my eyes. But, I think that your portal's table headers should be the same color as the forum's table header's colors. Other than that, it looks simple, and easy to navigate around.

  3. Images & Icons (Score: 8.5/10):
The topic icons are simple, and very nice. It's easy to see when there's a new post from someone from the forums.
The images for each forum are also nice, and it will be easier to notify people what's the certain forum is about.
One thing that I don't like is this, the "who is online" image :
Am sure you can create a better image to explain the details for this image,
The ticks for the posting icons are enough, now try something different,

Style total: 28/30

Population & Groups

  1. Staff Population (Score: 10/10):
Impressive! You have a good amount of staff members on your forum, comparing to the amount of members.
From what I see, they all do their jobs great. In the past, you needed more graphic designers, to finish up some requests, like mine, but, your one and only graphic designer couldn't do the request, due to school, or something like that. But, now that there are more graphic designers, I expect better results.

  2. Staff Groups / User Groups (Score: 9/10):
I do not really see the point in having a mod group called "Service Managers" when there is already a mod user group called "Moderators". Instead of just adding the permissions for the user group called "Moderators" to moderate just in any forum as you choosed, you can just allow them to moderate in the services forum, instead. Now, by doing this, you can delete the usergroup called "Service Managers" and just have the user group called "Mods" and assign permissions to each member to moderate in different forums.

Usergroup total: 19/20

Forum Activity

  1. Post/Member Ratio & Quantity (Score: 10/10):
This really deserves total marks. Every time I log into your forum, there's about 10-35 new posts, or a new topic somewhere located in the forums. Your members really like to up their postcount. But, sometimes they just come out and spam. ( not bad spam [ offtopic spam ] , btw )

  2. Users Active (Score: 10/10):
40 out of 177 members logged in on the forum in the past 24 hours. That's a good sign of an active community with great, active members. Nice work done. I see there are very loyal members on the forum.

Activity total: 20/20

Overall Mark: 81%
Congratulations, you passed !

Conclusion

What could be done to improve your forum:
First, start off with the homepage. And the rest is in the forum's review.

The best thing I like about your forum:
I just love the activity of your forum. There are a lot of members logging online everytime they can and they all keep coming back for a little more fuji. I guess they can't get enough of fuji, lol.

Good work, and I hope for the best of your forum!
