What is it for ? This option allows the admin to automatically add a member to a group when they reach a certain post count. Before the recent update, the admins had to manually add a member to a group when they reached a certain post count. How does it work? To apply this option simply go to your Admin panel > Users & groups > Groups administration > Create new group ![]() ![]() This means, it can be configured for new members not to be able to see all of the forum. This means: He must be present, registered and active on the forum to see some of the forums. The more he posts, the more he has access to different categories and sub forums. This means that the more he posts, the more forums he can see. Example We create a group "New member" : ![]() ![]() Let's check out the group permissions in General > Forums > Categories and forums ![]() ![]() What the admin sees : ![]() What the "New members" group sees : ![]() The minimum messages to join a group is 1 (0 is not taken into account). Beware to always select the level of importance of the group so that the color can be applied, for example, the new groups must be after the admin and mod group so that the staff don't have the username color of a member! In addition to this , you can manually add members to a group! Also you can also manually remove a member of a group. NB: If you activated the option for an "old" group created before the updates, members who were already in the group will remain you will have to manually remove them! This feature can be applied to all groups except the Admins group for security reasons. |

Re: Auto-Subscribe to groups
Typlo Just a ? Is there going to be a auto Rank bit added to this as well
Because some of us will be using this update to add our members to a group like VIP and have ranks to go with that but right now if you Do this you have to keep an eye on the members or get them to post saying that they have moved up in the VIP so you can add there ranks to the profiles as well please can we have it so we can set a Rank to the groups as well.
So I'm Asking will this be some thing the tech's will be working on some time soon ??

you can already do it!
just go to "rank administration" under "users and groups" and you can do it there. Its really cool.
all you have to do is, make sure you link the same numbers with your groups.

No that is not what i mean i would like to set a rank for when a member is auto moved in a group they get the rank as well With out a admin going in the CP to change the members rank
My VIP'S have to post at least 1000 to get added to the VIP group but when they get moved to that rank they Don't get a Rank un less i go in the ACP and then add there rank by hand
If you see what i mean
Re: Auto-Subscribe to groups
if you set your rank as a special rank then you can only add it via teh AP.
but like cfs said, if you create a VIP group, in which members get added if they got 1000 posts...
you go to the rank administration and create a vip rank , which is not a special rank and needs 1000 posts.
that way a member with 1000 posts will automatically go to the vip group and get the vip rank

Re: Auto-Subscribe to groups
yea. if u set it to a "Not special' rank and set it to the same amount of post on the rank as you do in the rank and it will all be automatic.
Re: Auto-Subscribe to groups
Hello guys.
I am maybe loosing something here in this groups thing...
I have This Groups:
*Administrators- 1
Then I create a group for each moderator
*Group Games-2
*Group Games-3
*Group Games-4
I open the moderator groups but I dont want the members to be added automatic, I want him to add himself if they like, so (auto -subscribe) is NO.
Now I go to (special Rights) and I aloud Members to see usergroups.
NOTE
I didn't give any special rights to the members in (Ranks)
Now I go to the forum and I look at the groups as an Administrator and the only group I can see is my group (Administrator group) but I dont see the other groups.
Now, I sign in as a member and I look at groups but I have this message:
NO GROUPS EXIST
Why this happen ?
Am I doing something wrong ?
Its because the groups I open are moderated by the moderators and that give access to the members to moderate the forum too?
Do I need to create a group and do not use any of the moderators ?
Is this because I dont set up any special right to the members in the (Ranks) ?
I did try everything but I dont get this members group to work !!
