Been using it since last year, and I love it! Fast and simple. New features like Jump lists and Libraries are great.

"7" is getting very good reviews from many directions. As you know, it is in Beta, presently, and won't be released for several months. If you want to try the currrent version (Beta), check Microsoft download center, search 'windows 7'. Browse on 'windows 7' and get lots of info...I will probably upgrade to it from my 3pc's running Vista, now, although, I very much like Vista and always have. Vista is 'clean' and very nice. I have never had any problems with Vista and I run 3 pc's with Ultimate x64. Have fun.

Windows 7 is definitely the future OS, but i don't see the need for rush at all... There is a wise rule concerning Microsoft OS - wait until the first Service Pack :/

Other than that, i doubt i ll switch to it entirely, Vmware is not supported on it.

You don't have to wait for SP1 till, Microsoft learnt its lesson this time. Windows 7 was stable since the closed beta build 6801.

For me I would say I am happy to have it. Way better than Vista, my thoughs were that vista was a beta for Windows 7. I love the snap feature and the screenshot feature. Still looking for more tricks for make my Windows better.

It is highly recommended to back up all valuable data.

You have two options to install Windows 7: Dual boot with Windows XP, or completely reformat the partition containing Windows XP and install Windows 7 in that partition.

Reformatting the Windows XP partition will wipe and erase all data on the partition.
Windows XP can't be upgraded to Windows 7, so hopefully you bought the full install disk instead of the upgrade disk.

It has a few leftovers from Vista's look, but I think it's way better looking.
