phpbb 3
I was looking into this and found that forumotion is advertised as having this type of phpbb 3.
There was a link on the google search that let to forumotion homepage. Where in forumotion do we have the abilities and mods like phpbb 3? The new new admin panel.
This is real close to false advertising. I cannot see anything (mods etc) available here that are on a real phpbb site.

Re: phpbb 3
I noticed the new admin panel navigation is similar to phpbb3 and it also has the birthday mod, and a few other features that are similar.
Re: phpbb 3
Hello,
The phpbb3 system isn't an finish version, also, isn't stable...
With the new admin panel, have a forum is easy...
Forumotion will take phpbb3 ?

Re: phpbb 3
now that the site can now be version 3 what does it offer as far as mods?
I dont see any advantage of upgrading to this. So once again a update with none of our suggestions being implemented, although I think some asked for this-which I dont understand why if we dont get any of the phpbb3 mods that have been suggested.

Re: phpbb 3
as far as i was aware, mods will be implemented in the near future, as the technicians get round to adding the accepted ones. for myself phpbb3 is still in beta and runs the risk of bugs even without adding mods which can complicate things further. I think i would rather have additions made slowly and the forums run well, than whack them all on and have many issues arise.
Re: phpbb 3
Hello,
Admin panel is based on the phpbb3 admin panel, and now you can have the phpbb3 template for your forum. We are adding new features everyday but sometimes the modification we are doing are not visible for users.
We will add new features thanks to suggestions and phpbb3 mod. I just can't tell you when they will be available.

Re: phpbb 3
Now I am not saying this to be disrespectful but why can't we ever get a post from technicians with details of some mods that they are working on to install in our sites. Something like a "preview of things to come"
As well as posting on our suggestions on whether it could be done or not.
I remember the last "Big Vote" the chose of skins suggestion won, and we haven't seen that but we got 2 admin panels!
Why do we even suggest anything? I mean really, there is no posts from technicians. Nothing!
Come on, give a forum dog a bone!
I mean everything above with respect and am not trying to cause problems, I get many PMs for other members wanting to know why can't we do this and why don't they(tech) post on the site like I described above.
with respect,
Kilsek

Re: phpbb 3
I've had this question since the beginning:
Is this really phpbb3, or just a fake theme??
Did you (anyone) find something new in version 3, which proves it's really phpbb3?

Re: phpbb 3
I personally still prefer to old style for forums.. I suits the CS theme i set up more..
I'm definitely looking forward on trying this new setup in the future, but I'd actually like more input from people whom have actually used it

Re: phpbb 3
We are correcting the last problems that users have with their forum. And one of us is sorting (I don't know if it is the best word to use:P) the suggestions, to find new features liked by the users. We will start the development as soon as possible.
Re: phpbb 3
Soon,
I thank you for your post. A post with a little tease of things to come would have made me happier but yours is good enough.
I point your eyes to the direction of the suggestion I made for the collection tracker

Re: phpbb 3
On my side, having a test board, I am currently studying the CSS of the new version, so I can write tutorials for some specific changes (textures in cells, field & buttons styles, etc.) for the tips section of my board.
Re: phpbb 3
There are 20 pages in both english and french suggestion sections. So it will take a long time to read all suggestions and make a choice of those we will add.
Re: phpbb 3
Personally, I'm not too crazy about the current phpbb3 that we have. It still seems a bit unstable and my logo won't center properly like it did with phpbb2. (I'll tweak it later.) And with the limited number of themes available for us to choose from, phpbb2 seems like a more viable option right now.
However, I ran across a themes page for phpBB3, but it also lists RC numbers after it. Most of them range from RC3 to RC5, and says that older themes will not work with phpBB3 RC6.
With all the updates that have been going on, which RC version of phpBB3 are we running on Forumotion?
And Katt, I'm looking forward to some tutorials for adding textures to the cells. Thanks for working on that.
The url for the long list of free phpbb3 themes, if anyone is interested:

We aren't running any phpBB3 version at all on Forumotion. You can choose a phpBB3 theme, but all forums still run on phpBB2.
Re: phpbb 3
Will they ever run on Phpbb3?

Re: phpbb 3
When will forumotion run on the COMPLETE version...with all features. I have learned that forumotion's version of Phpbb is not fully loaded...
I have downloaded phpbb3 and uploaded it to a webhost...it has tons of features...
If it weren't for my forum being already all said and done, I would be hosting there.
If you would like an example, I can create a dummy account with admin privelages, and you can login and see for yourself.

But that costs money and this one is free. You just have to wait I understand. I've just come from a few months on a Phpbb3 forum and have gone to this one as it's v similar but free. Thought this one was much simpler as it's got less features!

So, Spectre, If you want, I can post details and let you test out the features

Phpbb2 vrs Phpbb3
Can someone tell me the advantages of having the Phpbb3 versus the PHpbb2 ?
Thanks, I am thinking of upgrading but am unsure and a little nervous in switching.
