MASS PM

I would suggest to the people who created forumotion that they create an option which will allow moderators or administrators to be able to send a Private message to all the members of the forum(eve those who are not a part of a group). I know that you can send a Private Message to groups but I think it will be a very good thing if you could create such an option that you can send PM's to everybody who is registered on forum. I hope that you will consider my proposition and make such an option available. Thank you for reading my suggestion.

yea could be a good idea --- however, there is an option that makes it possible to send mass e-mails (an e-mail to every member you got)

Yes. I know about the newsletter(the option that allows you to send e-mails to everyone who is registered, but I would like an option which allows you to send Private messages to everyone

I was just thinking about this today as I have just sent out my newsletter.

I feel the bonus of having a PM ALL function would be that I have a number of members who after registering have not come back. If I send them an email its eaily forgotten however if I PM them they are more than likely to come to the site to see who wants to talk to them.

Just a way of drawing people back to the site.

I have voted yes as my newsletters go to bulk mail but PMs go to normal email

But most of the people have marked "Notify on new Private Message": yes.. so if you send them a PM, all will recieve an e-mail.. so it will be very similar to the actual way of mass mailing.

Yes but if forces them to come to the site to check the PM rather than just read the email and then forget about it. If they haven't been to the site for a while they might realise how much fun they are.

when sending an e-mail to a member a copy of that e-mail is sent to his pm box

This is a good idea, hence my vote of yes.
I have a few other forums on different platforms which have this feature. I know there's the newsletter via email option, but some members don't check their email regularly and if I want to just pass on an update I've added to the site, I think a PM is more suitable for the purpose. I also know that Hotmail accounts have been a problem with forwarding bulk emails recently as some Hotmail users don't get newsletters.

I voted yes because members can select 'no' to if they want to recieve newsletters

I think that half of members of my forum barely ever checks their e-mails, so yes, I think that mass PM would be very useful.

This has my vote. An admin needs to be able to alert the entire boards about changes and/or additions. A lot of people don't read the announcements forums.

I like it because I have to send a pm to each group when I want to reach them all. This would make it alot easier. Got My Vote!
