Sound Script Needed

Can anyone please give me a script code to make a link banner play a sound when you hover over the image and stop when you move your mouse off the image? I have looked all over the place and all I can find is for flash, and I really don't want to use flash for this one. Thanks in advance.

If it only works in IE will it cause any issues with the other browsers? As in image and actual link issues, or will it be as if it's just a normal link banner and just not play a sound? And thanks for the fast reply.

Ok as where I am really new to this script thing is there any way you can place this together for me? I know it's sad, sorry. I did try this and I couldnt get it to work. I'm kind of lost where step 3 was. I do not know where to put the event handlers.

It was meant as a holder that I could replace with my mp3 file. But basicly all I need is a working link banner that has a hover over sound. I can replace the used files with mine. But here is one that you can use to see if you can get it to work.

No I didn't find one on a forum. I just thought it would be a nice addition to a few link banners that already have.

Anyway i am on my old computer right now so i cant relay try to look at the coding and test a few things to see if it works etc.. but as soon as i am back on my normal computer i will have a look if it is not yet solved by them.

i am just wating for a dvd to burn so when that's finished i will check it out.

All help is appreciated. But 1 quick question before anyone wastes anymore time on this request. Does the announcements area not work with these scripts? Have to ask because I used an unedited script that I knew would work for just a text link with hover as a test and it removed the script parts after it saved. All that was left was the text link but no script.

scripts codes should work in the announcements.
do you mean the announcements at the top of the forum.

or announcement option when creating a post,sticky or announcement.

well that script calls for haveing it in a template because it has to be in the head area of the page which is either located in the over all header template or footer template.. i think it is in the footer because i had to do something that required this in the past.

then you have to have the mp3 converted or uploaded as a wav file.
so i am sure there is a better script or code then that one.. the best bet is to google it.. i mean there are probably a zillion different ways for this.

but i am still testing something too. so i will let yous know how i make out with it..

Yes I meant to say announcements at the top of the forum sorry. I have googled out today LOL. I have spent the entire day looking for alt. scripts for this and they all are basicly the same with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, but none that I have ran into seems to work for me. But if what you are working on dosent pan out it's cool and I thank you for you time. I will just have to live without that until I end up just doing it in flash. I would have done it already but I so hate messing with flash. But it's looking like the best option at this point.

JavaScript works good in the homepage message content field.
The mouseover sound code I have isn't displaying properly when
posted here. Get the source code from →this page and add it to:
Admin Panel»Display»Homepage»Generalities»Message content

Ok that code works in the announcements over the forum and in IE and Firefox both. Is their a setting somewhere in the admin panel that I can change to make this work in the portal widgets as this will not work in those and that's where I really needed it? And thank you for all the time you have spent on trying to help me.

Link the mouseover script in your widget...

Create an Html page titled sound1_js with the script
portion of the code. Leave out the <script></script> tags.
Admin Panel view (click)



Add the url of your new page to this
