Infraction System

Post by Nick23 on February 24th 2010, 5:16 pm

Hello I just hope im not on the wrong section, but this is the suggestion section.
i just wanna suggest about this Infraction System. ive searched this site and not any of those threads helped me out. I just want to know if there is a system that gives infractions?(not automatically) the one that expires, cause its really hard controlling a forum of 800+ members doing dirty works like spamming everywhere. and we have only 2 moderators and me an Admin. its kinda confusing if the member is already given an infraction or not. and when it expires. imagine giving warnings to 100 + members and keeping an eye on their warning expiry date. the notepad is just not enough. hope someone will not just junk this thread cause my forum really needs some discipline. thanks

I don't know about this. I'm pretty fine with just having warning bars on my forum. You can always just get more admins. I believe vbulletin has a infraction system. If you like the infraction system maybe you should try getting a vbullentin forum.

Spending $195 on a vBulletin forum? No thank you.

OT: Yes, this would be great, and is needed for my forum!

the reason I don't like the infraction thing is because it gets kinda confusing. I like the warning bars cause they are quick to edit and simple.

thats a lot more hard. coz the bar does not expire. it only shows if the member has an infraction. lets state that you have a thousand members. how are you going to handle that?you can't just change the bar to its full state without knowing the day you gave it an infraction. and you can't give an infraction without an expiry date.

but im sure they are having a hard time. and almost all the members of this forum are disciplined that's why less people get infraction.

Great idea! Voting yes!

This would really help out. Wouldn't it be nice to have your warnings autmotically update themselves?

We need this. My forum is small, there aren't any spammers, so it's easy. But once it gets bigger, then I'll have to worry. So, yes.

Simply create a profile field in everyone's user profiles and make it visible only to Moderators and Admins and use it as a notepad

Why would you have that many members and barely any admins and mods.
This would nice to have for forums.
