Removing a couple widgets

Sounds good?
Removing a couple widgets
I was thinking that we should possibly remove the 'Search' and 'Keywords' widgets and replace them with another widget that we actually need; the Search widget isn't needed since we already have a Search tool above the list of widgets... and who really looks at the Keywords widget? Maybe we could have a widget for a list of the different language support forums (such as French, Spanish, etc. which are found in this topic) so that many of the foreign board members will be able to locate the different language support forums much more easier and conveniently.

Re: Removing a couple widgets
Great idea Rok! I think we should definitely add the widget you suggested, but also remove Poll, Search, and Keywords. I think we could also shorten Social pages by removing the fan pictures from the Facebook code.
By the way, you forgot to add a poll.
By the way, you forgot to add a poll.
Re: Removing a couple widgets
Sorry about the Justin; I just added the poll now.
Thanks for your support, guys!

Re: Removing a couple widgets
In short;
Search => Fair point
Keywords => I'd keep
Polls => Yeah throw 'em out
Social Pages => Shorter wouldn't hurt indeed
I'd also add top posters in the "removable" content. It's nice to know who's a high poster, but this forum is a support forum. Not quantity but quality (Sanket doesn't count 'cause he cheats
)
In long:
The forum is one of ForuMotion's main marketing pages. As such, having a good visual is important. The Keyword widget doesn't need a function as much as it needs to wear it well. The list of words in different sizes looks cool. Hence I think it's worthy to keep it, if only just for ForuMotion's sake
I agree that it'd be really handy to have the different support forums listed in a widget. Many members come simply asking their way. This widget would save them precious time. It'd also make ForuMotion appear more loigcal in their organisation.
I'm not in favor of any MP3 type widget simply because it takes memory, that not all users can afford it (the memory) and that it would never satisfy all tastes. Added to that, ofcourse, then it's annoying to have the music stop at each page click

Re: Removing a couple widgets
If only this forum had an inlined toolbar.
I think the Top Posters widget should stay. It's what makes all of our current active members posting (mostly support). Plus, it's something that's actually fun on this forum besides the sarcasm of godly members here, haha.
But thanks for voting yes, Caihlem.

I dare u to try n out-post sanket within the next 48 hrs
Personally, I disagree with the whole comment about keep us regular "members" posting, because we all know where we stand, and we post because we like helping people in one way or another, or showing off our graphics skills as far the the gfx rooms go.

I don't like that thought either Rok
Personally, I'm a tad unsure about this, I mean, everything is there for a purpose.
I'm sort of with and against this suggestion because there are some widgets I'd like removed, but others that u suggested to keep, so im a little "on the fence" here.
Even if I was a "newbie" here, I'd still use the darned search thing so don't remove it
Soooooo, I'm not voting just yet

Voted "Yes".
Keywords & Search are really not necessary.
Poll is also need to be removed.
Better to add smth like "If you forgot a password - what to do" - thats more usefully!

I'd keep the keywords and search tool widgets. But, I don't think that the polls widget is needed,
Also, I don't think that the 'Latest topics' widget is needed...

It looks like Luky added the list, and it looks great!

Suggestion approved and changes have been made accordingly=> Suggestion moved to Archives
Ps: I also added flags for each support forum to make it easier to be recognized by people who don't speak English. That should guide them on a support forum whose language they know
