Hey guys,

I have a buddy who worked really hard on his forum and someone was childish enough to abuse his trust, go on his account, and pretty much delete all his hard work. Here is some of what happened:

http://www.newda.net/jigsaw-f1/must-see-t1301.htm

I've seen this happen before and I've seen people fix it. I don't know how though and that's what I want to find out. First of all, it appears my friend's (the owner) account's password was changed, and I haven't spoken to my friend, but I'd like to know if there's any way for him to get his password back in case he isn't able to get his password back himself. Second, assuming he gets his password back what are the steps to take in order to restore his forum to a previous date? I know it can be done as I've seen other forums "hacked" by childish people and later they are able to restore it to a previous date or something.

This guy has worked really hard on his forum and I'd hate to see it go to waste like this :/ so if there's anything that can be done please let me know so I can help him out.

https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ is the founder tools to restore your forum.

If the email isn't changed on the founder account I will be able to reset it to the email. But if it is changed by the hacker, you will need to contact Typlo explaining the issue.

Thanks a lot MrMario! I will let my friend know asap. Please keep this discussion open so that I may post updates on whether or not the e-mail was changed, etc.

Again, thank you for the information.

Funny, first of all how would you know? Are you affiliated to this "so-called" team? Wouldn't put it past you since you and iverson are the prime suspects in this.

Don't be arguing who is a hacker. I can care less who is. I care about helping users fix their problem.

Back on topic.

I wasn't arguing, just thought it was funny he flat out knew it was a team or whatever. Anyway, we tried using the forum site name thing and the creator password and nothing :/ could it have something to do with the fact that the url was changed from newda.darkbb.com to newda.net?

I know the password can be changed once you reach the utilities section so I'm guessing the hacker changed this password as well. Is there any way to change the password from the administrator utilities?
