ForuMotion currently does not allow this. ForuMotion keeps all of this data and does NOT allow this type of data to be transfered or handed out.

Sorry but that's the only input :/.

You can download phpbb,punbb,etc... and you can switch hosts because you have the files :/.

Other then that:

Well i have been hearing about the loss of data of some forums and dont want to have this issue. I know and read all the rules about the database but i really hope there is a way to transfer or have a backup.

Hello,

I'm sorry but you have no access to the DataBase (DB) or any dumping of it, that is in agreement of article L. 341-1 of the law of July 1, 1998 (France)
=>
More Information

Also, take note that when you agreed to our Terms of Service, which is required to create a forum you agreed to not access your DB, nor any dumping of it, nor ever access it.

Terms of Service wrote:Data and security

Everything is done to avoid any slowdown or unexpected downtime of the
services, but it is not possible to guarantee these slowdowns, or to
foresee any downtime. None network or server problem or any other
breakdown can be covered under any warranty. None repayment can be
considered for any break or stop of the services, damage or data loss.
Several systems have been set up to ensure a security of the content.
Thus, a backup of the whole data is done everyday. But for any reason,
none individual backup or sql dump, database will be provided. Please do
take good note that for any evoked reasons, no precise safeguard of a
forum, dump, backup of the data will be provided. However, the
administrator of the forum has at his disposal, a tool which allows him
to use these backups in order to restore his board, such as it was at a
previous date.

Thus by this, you should know, there is no way you shell gain access your any of your files, nor can you 'transfer' your files to another host Moving forum? Icon_wink

Darren.

I don't understand why we can't transfer hosts. I think it is awesome that forumotion provides us with free forums but I think there should be a way we can pay to transfer hosts. I mean even if we were to give you all our information and have one of the admins of forumotion to do it still isn't possible?
