change the word 'contact' to an image in profile

Hi. I am not sure how this would be possible, but I would like to put a button that says "Send Message" instead of where it says the word "contact" when you view someone's profile.

would I have to go into the template for the profile area?

If I can't put an image there, I would at least be able to change the text. Write "Send a Message".

The 'send a message' or 'send a private message' can be found under the contact field(if you clicked 'contact').

I know but some of my friends won't see it. I just wanted to change the wording for 'contact' if I can't put an image.
