I'm the admin & I've been asked to change a members email from

sales_abc [at] drtorque.com

to just sales without the _ and the letters following it.

But I keep getting

"Sorry, but this e-mail address is invalid."

Why can't I? It's a valid address & he needs it changed for business purposes.

Yea but that's not the point. If a person requires it to be changed for business purposes they should be able to & I as Admin should be able to make that change?

Why is Forum Motion preventing my freedom of speech?

Sometimes If you're getting this error, may be you accidentally put an extra space in the middle or in any part of the email address, or you just made a typo. Sometimes this happens if you copy and paste your email address from another location.

If you've copied and pasted your email address into the field from another field, please delete the copied email address, type it in, and try again.

If the problem persists, well.... unfortunately to say some websites do not support email addresses with generic prefixes like info@, webmaster@ etc.. and I think forumotion is the one who dont accept generic prefixes.

The soultion for that is you will need to use a personal email address that does not contain this type of prefix. Since email addresses of this nature are commonly used for organizations and businesses, maybe they do not allow them to be used for personal forumotion forums I think....
