Close forum for more than a day

Hi! I searched the forums to find out how to close my forum temporarily, but I found only the "maintenance" and "holiday". I want to close the forum in a way similar to maintenance mode (visitors and members cannot see the forums, only a custom message saying the forum is closed), but I want this to last for more than a day, and not having to set maintenance mode option every single day. Is this possible?

Maintenance Mode is the only way to close the forum down.

Thanks. I changed the permissions on every category, so only administrators can see the forum contents, and put the message "forum temporarily closed" as an announcement on every page. When I decide to activate it I'll have to change the permissions on each category again, but since there isn't a one button solution for this, it's the best way to close the forum for a couple of months!
