Forum Activity

Post by LostLegend on June 28th 2010, 6:58 pm

First topic message reminder :

Not sure how to discuss this without making it look as if you are advertising :/
I see no rules on this other than no advertising.
This is a forum activity discussion, not an advert discussion.

Ok, NO forum links please! Put them in profiles!

Main discussion: Has anyone noticed forum activity going down recently? Mine has gone through several dips and rises but now I'm getting an average of under 10 members logging on of over 60 possible in 48 hours. As if matters didn't need to be made worse, I'm getting some emails saying 'the forum is boring'...

How can this be possible? I have a lot for members to do on it.

I don't seem to be the only one affected thankfully. There are some large forums in which activity has decreased almost to my average (even if mine is slightly lower)

I guess the worst pain is when no-one is really interested in newsletters or what the updates are.
Have you (or are you currently) experiencing decreased activity (remember, please, no links! Don't post them here!) and increasinly expectant members who are bored easily?

My sister is big on rats. What UI'm trying to get at is that there are other aniaml dedicated forums out there Smile

Find them! Learn from them Smile
What do they do? What do they propose? How do they run the place?
Also, partners always help. A partnership goes both ways and can be an interesting way of free publicity

I have finished all my updates now thankfully!
My regular activity is clocking 20+ per day (not brilliant with over 80 members but hey, half of them never came back :/)

How is everyone doing with activity now? Mine's returned to normal. (There was a small dispute though, but I will save that for PM)

If you want activity, make contests, themes, HTML Pages.

I don't know. I have a private forum in which you must $1 a month to be apart of, and I have a few thousand members that are never active yet they still pay the $1 fee.
Fine with me as long as the pay Very good

i make like 5 forums a year and i receive 100+ members.

But i am glad because my members stay active and we have a lot of fun

we have a lottery, competitions, gfx contests, we have a lounge where you can bet money ( points ) on sport games like football and stuff, we have a trailer section where we post the latest movie, game trailers.
