help with chat box

hello. i was wondering 2 things

1. is there a way that you can set who (groups) can see/use the chat... i would only like admins, mod, members to use it not the "users" of my site... (if need more info on what i mean ask)

2. is there a way to create a "invisable" account.... meaning the user name is " " a space this creats one.... but in the chat theres a @ beside it is there a way to take that out so this way i can log on as the invisable and watch the chat with mod powers without any one knowing the account is in the box

2) I don't think it will accept a username with just a space.

it dose any site will.... as long as you have 1 character it thinks its a username.... i have a user already with the name as a space but i was wonderng how to get ride of that @ in the chat

is there no way the creators can make it so the chat box is only vissable to certin groups i would think it would be fairly easy but i havent see the code.. but in the admin panel under chat config there is were you want the box ect.. in there should be who its visable to.... just saying would be great help

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button)
the @ means, he is moderator of the chatbox. You can remove him from being the moderator of it.

sorry and thank you.... why is it thow that my buddy and me are admins but only i have the @ beside my name

There is a way to do it with CSS.... but it may only work with newer browsers...

and that would be ........ lol

Any user thats not a chat moderator (in chat settings) will not have the @.

well my account isent in the chat settings but yet i have it... is ther any way to take the @ out

/mod is to make the @ by the username
/unmod is to remove the @ by the username.

yes i understand that but yet me and my firneds are both admins but yet i have the @ and he dosent nither one are set to a mod chat
