Hi I need some help with my smilies, I am transferring a few posts from an old forum and I am trying to get the smiley codes to work, when I add the code :'( and save it it shows with a back slash :'( for some reason the slash won't show up on here? and every time I remove the slash and save it, it always reappears? can anyone help with this ? this is how it looks after I've saved it : \ ' ( I added spaces to show it

Thanking you

Probably the codes for the smilies are different. They will not be the same.

It does it for me too. I don't know why, although none of my smilies use an apostrophe. Just make up a new code for that smiley.

I can do that easily enough but I am transferring some posts from my old forum (Proboards) which has used this code, so I will get a lot of posts only showing code, and there are too many for me to change all the codes in all the posts, so I was hoping to get a fix from here? not a good start for me I only joined a couple of days ago and now wondering if this is the place to be Confused it seems strange that the code changes itself ???? Shocked

I see your problem. The forum uses javascript to call a smilie. Doing a mouseover on a smilie I see that the link is
Code:
 javascript:emoticonp(':flower:')

I think that's why the apostrophe is the culprit. I don't know what can be done.

I tried using the censor function to change :'( to something else, but it didn't work LOL hey, it couldn't hurt to try bwi
