Does this forum have too many rules?
Rules
In my opinion, this forum has way too many rules and they are too strict!!!!
For example,
The rule that you can only post one graphic request per week is so ridiculous! The graphic staff members don't do anything, it's all other members giving people the requested graphic! So ridiculous!
NEEDS TO BE FIXED

I'm voting no -->
The Graphic Rule of 1 request per week is actually there because the Graphic staff don't have a tonne of free time, and most of the time they only have time to moderate, lock or trash threads.
Not to mention that rule has been in place for a while.
Is there any other rules you wish for me to critic? lol
Also, were a support forum, not a general forum, hence our strict rules
EDIT To add additional information
Our rules were updated earlier this year to remove nonsense rules, and rules that were obsolete - the staff team thought that the rules were at their finest so they permitted them to go public, I doubt the rules are going to change now.

Re: Rules
I agree with darren1 so I think you don't need to complain about the strictness of the rules, it's because we serve lots of people so the rules are posted to give some limitations.Darren1 wrote:I'm voting no -->

Re: Rules
Techguy: If Darren1, me or anyone else would be staff....
Then our name would be in color (I personally like the orange )
That rule was implemented at the beginning of the GFX section. At the time, there were few members dedicated to GFX and requests were piling up quicker than anyone could take care of them. This rule I think still is of use today. I'll gladly admit that the GFX section is doing well with many dedicated non-staff members - which is excellent. But this rule avoids any one person hogging the graphers. It has been seen even on specialised GFX forums.
As Darren1 said too; this is a generalist forum, so it can "afford" to lack a little on the GFX side. (Note that it doesn't mean that this forum is lacking)

Re: Rules
Hi,
I'm voting no. Don't forget it's Forumotion's official support forum, so strict rules are necessary to make sure to be able to provide adequate support.
I think this is really disrespectful. Graphic designers have many tasks and therefore they cannot do that many requests. They are responsible of the whole graphic section, and moderating takes a lot of their time. Graphic designers can't do all the requests, but that doesn't mean they don't do anything. That rule is not ridiculous, it allows everyone to post a request and to get it done faster. As Caihlem said, many specialised forums do the same.
