After posting Idea.

Post by Archangel Death God on July 7th 2010, 1:23 am

After posting, can we do something special. Like, can we lock a topic automatically after posting, can we sticky a topic automatically after posting. It should look something like this:
Spoiler:

As you can see, on the picture I just posted. It says ''After posting'' you can scroll down and click on what do you want to happen after posting. You can lock the topic after posting, and etc. Instead of having to post a message, than lock it, wouldn't it be better if we can just lock the topic automatically? Or sticky a topic automatically?

Sorry if this isn't very specific.

We can already do the sticky/announcement/global announcement.

It doesn't take that long to send a message and press close.

I don't think this is necessary, it doesn't take that much time to click "send" and then click "lock"... xD

I think I already know that, but wouldn't it be better if we can automatically just lock it right after we post? Cause right after we post, another post can show up if your forum is popular, than after that other persons post, you lock it. Instead of wasting time by posting than locking it(And if somebody else posts before you lock it, than you have to delete that post, making you waste your time) But wit this system we can lock it aoutomaticlly, and after that, NOBODY CAN POST.

okay i see both points it does only take a minute to post and lock or delete another members and lock topic but the idea is to make it simpler, that is all.
just saves a bit of hassle.

It would be somewhat convenient, but it's not a necessity. It's simple to send, then lock the topic. If this is accepted, I think I can guarantee it will not be a top priority, though I could be wrong.

Anyways, I vote No.

Guys, I'm working on trying to find a way how to do this via template editing for those of you who want this, rather than the simple ways of selecting it via options, or after posting Smile

Vote yes. I have seen forums (no idea what host, it was a long time ago), where you had options there like Archangel Death God suggested, and in Quick Mod tools was also "Make sticky" or "Make announcement" or "Make global".
Voted yes however.

This suggestion doesn't transcend me as anything "new" or "bug-fixing", so No
