Permissions for groups
I just made a forum and was talking with other members about the moderation system. We decided that we wanted a lenient system with a special forum in which unruly members could appeal their case or apologize without causing disruption in the main forum. But I can't set the permissions for the groups or even individual members so that they were unable to post in the main forum and only this special forum. Once I allow members to read and post in all forums, it automatically sets the same permissions for all groups and doesn't allow me to change them. Is there anyway to override this so I can just set them manually?

Re: Permissions for groups
Put the banned members in a group, Make a new forum, Click viewable by that group only. and make sure that that group cannot see other forums,
You'll need to edit permissions for every forum
You'll need to edit permissions for every forum

Re: Permissions for groups
I've already tried that. I can create a forum that is viewable only by the group of delinquents, but I'm not able to set the permissions so the delinquents can't post in the main forums. I'm not allowed to "un-click" permissions for specific groups if the action is permissible to members and/or guests. Right now, I have it so "Members" can only post in the introduction forum. I created a new group called "Registered Members" that have full access to the forum, and members join automatically after one post. This way, the "members" and "users" permissions are all "un-clicked" except in the introduction forum, and I can choose the permissions for the groups. But this is very tedious, and the unruly members can still post in the introduction forum as well as their special forum.

Re: Permissions for groups
You need to create one more group called members. Otherwise, there is no other way to achieve what you are saying.
