Problems with Signatures Empty Problems with Signatures

Post by baldy July 16th 2010, 8:53 pm

Hello there,
We are currently experiencing a problem when accessing Signature under Profile. When we click on the Signature tab in Profile this is all that we get:

Template->make_filename(): Error - file posting_sig.tpl does not exist

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? We have users using IE as well as Firefox, and both are experiencing the same problem. The version that we are using is Invision.

No, I'm not having that problem. It is most likely a CSS problem. I would normally say that it is a template problem, but since you're using Invision, you can't do anything about it. Try changing your theme of your forum to something else and see what happens.

Techguy, are you suggesting that I change version from invision, or just change the skin?

Hi techguy, same result after a change of skin I am afraid, so looks like it might be invision?

Try changing the forum version. See what happens. I kind of forgot that I can't see the signature editor unless I have an account. Smile

Correct, and that is fine. I am not seeing the template editing panel, which is what I need to see, considering the fact that your problem takes place in the templates portion of the panel.

Update: Unfortunately, only the owner of the forum can edit the templates, so I will have to leave this part up to you. I am still gathering more information -- please wait.

Ok, here is what you do:

Follow this exacaly:

Go to ACP > Display > [Find "Templates" on the side bar] > Click "Profile", under "Templates" > Where you see "profile_edit_signature", add in the following code OVER THE LAST ONE

Code:
{UCP_TABS}
{ERROR_MESSAGE}
<table class="forumline" width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" align="center">
<tr><th colspan="2">{L_CURRENT_PREVIEW_SIGNATURE}</th>
<tr>
   <td class="row1" width="25%" height="130"><span class="gen">{L_SIGNATURE} :</span></td>
   <td class="row2" width="75%" valign="bottom"><span class="postbody"><div class="signature_div">{SIGNATURE_PREVIEW}</div></span></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="row1"></td>
<td class="row2">{PROFILE_IMG} {PM_IMG} {EMAIL_IMG}&nbsp;<!-- BEGIN contact_fields -->{contact_fields.DISPLAY}{contact_fields.SEPARATOR}<!-- END contact_fields -->
</td>
</tr>
</table>

<form name="post" action="{S_PROFILE_ACTION}" {S_FORM_ENCTYPE} method="post">
<table class="forumline" width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" align="center">
<tr><th colspan="2">{L_EDIT_SIGNATURE}</th>
<tr>
<td class="row1" width="25%"> </td>
<td class="row2" width="75%" align="center"> <span class='genmed'><input class='button' style='font-weight:bold; width: 50px' onclick='bbstyle(0)' type='button' id='addbbcode0' value='{L_BOLD}' accesskey='b'></span>&nbsp;

   {SMILIES_STATUS}</span></td>
   <td class="row2" width="75%" align="center">{SIGNATURE}</td>
</tr>
<tr>
   <td class="catBottom" colspan="2" align="center" height="28">

Thanks techguy, it is getting rather late here in South Africa. I will try and stay around, but if I have gone to bed, please leave messages, and I will read them in the morning, and then catch up with you again tomorrow evening (our time) which will be around the same time for you as today, if that is all right with you?

Thanks for everything so far, you are a star.
