Ranks and Groups

Post by Behaviour??? on July 20th 2010, 6:00 pm

I want to know how we can make members appear in certain colors. I checked the Rank Administration, but I am confused if I should "Assign It A Special Rank?" \

I want it to use for VIP Members

Note- I dont want the VIP members to have the moderation features enabled anywhere in the forums!

To colorise users, I think this is one way you can do it:

1) Create a group
2) set the group colour to the colour you want
3) go to ACP -> Users & Groups -> Users -> User Options
4) under the Members section, check "Colorize Usernames" so it is set to "Yes"
5) put the people you want to have the color in the group you made

Yep, that's a very important thing if you want the selected font color to appear for the usergroup. Behaviour, remember to tick that option to 'Yes' in order to have the usergroup colorized.

Also in your usergroup settings, allow colorize usernames.

Not wishing to Hi-Jack the thread but when I created a 'Members' Group and set the Auto join to 0 it included me as Admin and so Admin was coloured green instead of purple. So I set another member as mod and removed Admin from the Members Group, fine... However, I can no-longer get Admin back to purple AND every time I post as Admin I get auto included back into the Members Group and the name goes back to green again! Doh!
What am I doing wrong anyone?

Cheers

Mike

Whatever group you want to be in, just click the little arrow on the left "UP" and it will change the order of the ranks. Do that in whatever way you need to.
