Re: URL icon
Hi,
When saving your new favicon, ensure it has a file of .ico or otherwise it won't work

Re: URL icon
ok i already got my favicon but i dont know how to put it there:
it says:
How to add the favicon to your page ?
-Download favicon
-Put the favicon.ico file into your webserver directory
-This favicon is an animation. Internet Explorer doen't support animated favicons yet. For that reason you need to generate an additional non-animated favicon.ico file.
-Add the following lines between the <head> ... </head> tags of the page:
-"and what is webserver directory"-
help thanks.

Re: URL icon
Administration Panel/General/Forum/Configuration/General/ 3rd line down, Forum favicon :
Put the url of the image in this box, click save. That's it.
You'll need to upload the favicon to a image host server such as Photobucket or image shack. If it's an .ico file, you'll need to use FileDen. But I see by your instructions it's an animated file so it's an animated gif.

Re: URL icon
thanks...
I see the instructions you've posted are so
Internet Explorer can see an alternate (static)
icon since it doesn't recognize an animated gif.
You can use that method by adding this to your Css...
#1 is static icon (IE) #2 is animated icon (Firefox etc)
Technically... uploading pics on your
Admin Panel is your webserver directory.
You can host images at tinypic, photobucket etc
but they don't allow icon .ico images...
A good site to host .ico files →wimg.co.uk
Edit: Since this topic is closed, I'll add this info here |
