I want to create a page that activate's whens someone goes onto a URL that doesn't exist on my website.

Instead of it just redirecting to the homepage.

How do I do this?

I am not sure what you mean. you cant redirect or go to a url that dose not exist.

Are you saying you want to redirect to a different home page?
You can create html page and then set this as the home page if thats what you mean?

Please explain more.

i dont get the point.

why are you going to redirect someone to page thats not there.
i mean we are here for support questions this is just a ridiculous question.

Place this code on html page.
BUT i realy do not see the point in this.

there are other ways to do this but i am not wasting my time.
Sorry but there are just more important inquiries here to help with.

Code:
 <iframe src='http://www.mybrowserbar.com/cgi/errors.cgi?r=n&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.clubpenguin.com%2Fasldmflad&ccv=128&cnid=616163&ISN=D0F2F6BE6A054CEDB37FDAF05B3D1954&type=404&ct=8' width='1024%' height='800px' style='border: 0px #'></iframe>

you have to create a html page then set it as your home page.
but if you do this everyone is going to get that 404 page and think the forums not there... lol

unless thats what you want.. things you are doing and asking are beginning to seem a lil suspicious to me and you not explaining what the purpose is.. dunno

Hello,

Kirk, I think what Leaf is asking is: When you go to a true phpbb forum and you get the message saying that the page doesn't exist, typically a 404 or similar error, and it says "click here to go to .... "
That's what she wishes to create for our free forum

I personally don't think this is possible because it required DB access & confirmation, which we don't have.

However, kirk is better at coding then me so I could be well & truely wrong here oops your lost page. Mouais

so your after how to create a custom 404 error page?

Don't you need access to the servers .htaccess file for that?

there might be a way *shrug*... it all depends on how the FM admins have their servers setup i think...

Like I said before, I don't think this is possible, because it requires access to the DB to tell it to tell the user/s that something cannot be found and you have to edit those configurations.

I'll have a poke around on Google tomorrow to confirm weather or not it needs complete DB access, and what, if possible we can edit anything, however I'm doubting it.

I think the idea is great, but the actual prospect of it is not possible
