What is the code to get latest post in any forum?

there is widget where can add to the portal or the forum page

Is there no special code otherwise like {USERURLINK}

what widget do you add and where do you add it?

Recent topics

Does that just show a listing of the most recent posts on the side of the forum content? What I'd like to do is that when a user clicks on a thread, it opens to the newest post that they haven't read. Is that possible?

I don't know what you mean, but recent topics means the newest topic, when someone post new topic so it be added/shown in the recent topics widget
