User Name Displayed Twice

hello, everyone.

I need some help here. my forum version is punBB, and my member noticed about this weirdness of the user name being displayed twice on the PM system. look at the screenshot below to see what I mean clearer.

my question is simple: how can I remove the user name that I circled in red at the screenshot above? thanks to anyone who helps! ^^

go to ACP - Display - Templates - General - Viewtopic_body - find "{postrow.displayed.POSTER_NAME}" delete the one that is below, Save + Publish.

there's only one line like that.

that only. I'm afraid that if I delete it, no user name will appear at all. or should I just delete it?

No don't delete it if its only the only one, maybe its a bug, but try your default template

ACP >> Display >> Templates >> Post and Private Messages. maybe it's there? since the problem is with private messages, after all.

Um, check your ranks in the usergroups->Ranks Section.

Normally my ranks appear under my username.
You maybe set your rank as your username by accident.

It can't be, because in posts I'm seeing the rank being "Site Admin".

My recommendation is to use either PHPBB 2 or 3.
PunBB tend to have layout flaws and it rely on the template system.
PHPBB 2 or 3 automatically does this for you as it adjusts to your skin.

Templates tend to be buggy sometimes if not correctly modified.

@Gangstar: haha, well, I was just thinking that it might be different. and I was tired yesterday. I'll take a look again tonight.

@SonicFanGurl: thanks, but no thanks. I've just changed the theme and forum version from phpBB3, actually. I wanted to try something new. ^__^
