Solved Java Script won't load on html page. (STILL NOT SOVED)

Post by codestar on July 30th 2010, 2:32 am

Hey, I'm helping run an organized site for gamers.. I need help with a few things...

First..
I'm putting in a humor page. I have a generator thing that will give a random punch line whenever you click 'Random' So what I have done is made a new html page... I have all the appropriate code in it.. Here's the source code for the page:
<html>
<head>
<title>Extinction Clan Humor Page</title>
</head>

</html>

Now what I want to do is put another generator in on the same page.. But when I put the code in twice, it just puts in two form boxes, and will not allow me to run the generator. How can I fix this?

Secondly,

I have downloaded a javascript thing, and I want to upload it to my forum. How do I do this? I have used some ftp programs, such as firezilla. But they will not connect to exhq.forumotion.com .. How do I fix this? Or more importantly, how do I upload this file to my forum, will forumotion servers allow me to do this?

Hi, your title being non explicit and therefore not facilitating research via the search option, I'm not answering (nor is any other member) until you change your title for an explicit one, related to your problem

Why we ask for explicit titles
The forum's search engine bases its research on keywords found in topic titles.

When you do a research, do you use "help", "urgent", "problem", "SOS" or "question" as keywords to look for topics about your problem/question?
Certainly not! So this is why it is important to use titles related to your problem/question. Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.
Thanks for your understanding.

You can not upload anything to forumotions data base because they do not offer any access to there data or server sources at this time.

As far as the other code i would have to see it but if it's a file that has to be uploaded and added to your forum in order for it to work then no it's not posibil on forumotion.. you would have to have a paid board to install mods or things like that.

ok Thank You Kirk!

As for the code, I just need to put it on the same page twice! It works if I put it in once. But if I put it in twice, two blank form boxes are there.

honestly i do not even understand what this thing is supposed to do?
And yes if you put the code twice then it dont work it only works with one.

But if this is something that has to be uploaded to a data base and installed as a module then you can not use it.
forumotion dose not offer this.

Thanks Kirk, but the code should work twice. It's a Javascript for pete's sakes! It opens a form box, you click random, a random punchline appears. I want to edit out the punchlines and put some quotes in. I want to have one form box with quotes and one with punchlines...

I wanted to upload something else as a module, but that did not work..

well good luck finding a free site that allows that.
You can try to check out phpbb but you still have to pay for that option.
i have never seen a free host that allows you to upload modules but who knows dig around on google you may find something..

Since the questions was answered i will now mark as solved and lock the thread.
