Disable Signature Images

Currently the only option for Signatures is to enable or disable them entirely. I would like the option of disabling images in signatures on my forum. Some of my members have limited bandwidth allotments and we're primarily a literature site, so large graphic images in signatures tend to disrupt the flow of discussion and eat up bandwidth. It would be nice to allow the members to have text signatures without having to allow images in siggys at the same time.

I disagree, you should simply just warn the user to resize his image or remove it. Make rules on your forum about signature sizes.

If he refuses, you can remove it yourself or just remove the user overall through your ACP.

That. This is something that is simple to set up rules for and enforce, no need to make an update for this IMO.

I don't think this is so importatnt, but it can be useful to limitate size for signature picture.

The reasons given for voting "no" here are short-sighted and, sorry, childish. Why make Administrators and Mods have to spend a ton of time removing pics from signatures each time new members sign up and don't read the TOS carefully, when you can take care of it in one step (and avoid the problem in the first place) by a simple piece of code? No one is saying that you would have to use it on your forums.

i think an option to limit the size of a signature to be appropriate. just know that with some browsers, images appear much larger compared to other browsers. i look at my sigs via firefox and all looks great, then i view via comcast chrome and think my sig was in radioactive storm.

Voted yes. As long as we make it an option to enable or disable, I'm happy.

It can simply be enforced as a rule in your forum. No need to spend time making it.
