Solved 2 questions...Malware/Abuses

Post by Transmission on August 1st 2010, 2:50 am

Hi all,

Firstly,

Is forumotion having any problems at the moment??

My members are trying to log onto the site and they are receiving this message before they can log on.

A friend of mine is hosting a forum on the forumotion boards too and is having the very same problem.

Secondly,

In the 'Misc' section in the acp, under 'abuses and allegations', there is 1 active abuse.

It states:

Active abuses
Done abuses

Page concerned by the abuse Number of abuses for this page Date Action
profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&page_profil=contact&u=519 1 13 Jul 2010
Hacking

Does this mean that this user was attempting to 'hack' the site??

This area is new to me as i have never had to deal with it before..??

Cheers in advance

There is no hack. Forumotion is having problems with one of the codes and wil be fixed shortly. There is no Malware, just an odd code in the system.

would this explain why some members on our board keep getting logged out while they are trying to post?

I have yet to expierence this problem or hear about it. However, this error in the code could be the cause of that.

The best thing I can tell you, is to tell your members to copy their post before they hit send. That way, if they do get logged out they will have it on the clipboard and they can just log back in and paste it back on.

The techs have found the issue and have taken care of this. This would be the reason why people are logging out randomly.
