How to make a skin to auto fit any screen resolution?
I guess this forum= "Manage the appearance of your forum" would be the forum you are telling me about??!! <-- you could have moved it to the appropriated forum... instead of being condescending!Jalokim wrote:You should have posted in the display management forum a couple clicks up...

its best to use CSS classes like repeat-x or repeat-y to "stretch" your css independant of screen resolution.
You also need to consider css positioning when you want a bigger image background
Most skins on hitskin are done by normal members, and 90% of those these don't even use the CSS, and they don't consider other resoultions... they only make the theme work on their own resolution.
I know I take the liberty of making my themes work on all resolutions...even if it mean letting go of some really nice effects...
You need to find a properly made theme to be satisfied with it, and use the CSS to improve the theme.
I'll lock this now, as this thread is practically answered and its int he wrong section
Excuse me for posting my issue again, but I am not "practically" finished as I still have questions towards MY issue... and seeing that the other thread is locked. You see... I am not talking about images(I know about images)... I am talking about cells(?).
I like this skin very much and congrats to the designer on it, however I would like to find a way to make it fit at any given screen resolution. Can it be possible?

same issue here;waiting for answer soon
my husband's forum seen on his monitor is fine.He has a 22 in screen and is set at a certain resolution. You can go to another 22 in monitor and the forum size is too large even on a different monitor-same size also. That is the 22 in so the problem is not the monitor.
The problem is being able to fix the resolution of the forum itself.I noticed that in doing a search for a fix to this problem that the question has come up several times in different forums under different titles.NONE of them have been answered and the answers that are given do not solve the issue.
i also noticed that some of the answers almost scolded the people who asked. This is a support forum and people come here looking for support.
It serves no purpose to chew out the people who ask. They're here because they are very impressed with forumotion.I know i am and have highly recommended it to many people(my husband included)so it would be helpful if the people who ask for support were given more consideration by SOME.
The problem with resolution must be solved because it causes the issue over a lot of the forums. It will discourage people from joiing our forums.
I'm hopeful for a reply for all of us soon. There MUST be a way to easily change the resolution so the forums appear correctly over all.
It has nothing to do with changing image sizes or pixels or cells.
It has to do with being able to set a resolution across all screens.
