Error with editing profiles

First topic message reminder :

I was able to like visit a profile and then click on something and edit it there and then, but now I have to go to the Admin Control Panel.

Any help is appreciated.

In order to edit the permissions for the profile, you must do it directly via the profile option it's self.
Admin panel >> Users & Groups > Profiles.

Ya, I have them all set. So that any mod can edit them, and users can edit the ones I want them too. And the viewing is set so it should work.

CPInsider, I know this is a bit of a tedious task, for yourself & your members.
Could you please delete the profile fields, and re-add them. It sometimes works.
You only have to delete atleast 3, if it doesn't work after 3/4 we'll have to come up with another solution.

Also, can you edit the fields with http://anonymouse.org ?

i would double check this.

Because i went to my test forum and made the icon hidden and hit save and went to the profile.. you can not hover over the images next to the lil dashes - because the image is no longer there.

chances are when you go to.

Admin panel>pics>pic's management>advanced mode>buttons

scroll down the page to (field edit) and you will not see a icon.
You will most likely have the lil box that says hide ticked off and this link https://2img.net/i/fa/empty.gif

so if the box is ticked off then be sure to uncheck it then add Daren's image link to the link field,hit save and thats it.

oh be sure you also have (Activate advanced profile) set to yes as well.

Anyway if your saying the image is there then it makes no sense to me so may be it is something different going on with it?

Have you tried to use your forums utilities and restore your forum back to befor this start happening?

3 Profile Fields, No I haven't but I just tried it and it doesn't go back far enough.

If so, that is what I would suggest to do to find a resolution; delete & re-add the other ones.

Ok i fugured it out.
Cpinsider made me a temp admin so i can go in to make sure everthing was set right.

He had everthing right.. but then i went on firefox and noticed he had a tool bar at the bottom of his forum and it was not showing up with my browser on IE..Figures right... lol

So anyway i took out the code and the profile edit works fine now. so the code was conflicting with that and possibly other things that he is not aware of yet.. not sure.

So i am going to do a few test,, and also run the code by rono to see if he knows of a way to have the tool bar work and not conflict with the profile edit.

but i will test a few things befor i pass it on to him.

so i will let you know how i make out with it.

oh and cpinsider all you have to do is just turn the announcement back on and your toolbar will be back where it was. but remember you wont be able to edit the profiles because thats what is conflicting with it.

It wasn't showing for me what so ever, & still isn't?

yeah i would have not noticed it if i dint go on to firefox. it was in the footer.
But the code in the announcement one of those things.. nice tool bar actually.

Anyway yeah he dont have it there anymore now and the profile is working again.. but i dont want to lock this yet because i was wating for him to reply to see if he wanted us to see if there was a way he can still use it without it conflicting?

so we'll just wait for him to reply.
