hitskin needs more skins!

With the size of forumotion now isnt it about time that hitskin had some dedicated theme creators/support team or at least trusted people that create themes to still be around to fix when an erroroccurs or somthing just goes horribly wrong?

Jalokim used to produce some seriously good Skins. The current GFX Staff occasionally produce some nice ones. And there's all the members who post skins.

I'd say the problem isn't the quantity of skins available on HitSkin but rather a way to sort the nice ones apart from some which are.... less worked to stay polite

true true and im not taking anything away from them as they truley are great at what they do and the quantity they provide.

the thing that niggles me is that i have a gaming community and use phpbb3, i currently have an xbox theme that iv worked around etc but cannot use the forum widgets as the coding is wrong and there is noway to contact the creator, so naturally looked at other skins but none to which match the xbox theme, either black and lime green or even the matt white and slightly darker green. and i know that they dont take requests any more

so this is when i thought that maybe a more dedicated team to maybe do things like this but generalised on the categories/generes

There are not many theme creators on Forumotion, I don't have time to be making themes all day, and Hitskin isn't getting an update anytime soon.

Sorry, but this is just the way things are.

Honestly, the only people that posted great skins were Jalokim, Matei, Mex and another guy ( username starts with the letter "D" ) that worked with Matei for a football theme contest.

If you're looking for more great skins, then look on the French side of hitskin. I know, they are shaming us, English theme creators,

Money would be involved... And I don't think Forumotion is going to pay a group of people a few $ to create themes when a lot of users are creating decent themes and submitting them to hitskin for free,

Okay so I've looked at the french themes, if I install this will it all be headed in French?

Only the pictures of the theme will be in french, not the normal text.

There is one major reason why there aren't many theme creators on Hitskin : As a theme creator, what I find the most annoying is the fact that we cannot edit our themes and so, if there are mistakes or if we have to update our themes after a FM update came up, we have no choice but to ask Typlo (or another paid staff member - if you're French) to have our themes deleted, so we can reupload the updated/fixed theme.

And whenever I ask to make theme edition possible, all I got as answer last time is that this wasn't planned...

I'm sure this thing is one of the reasons why some theme creators decided to have their themes removed.

And personally, even if I made phpbb3-version derivatives of my own themes, they still aren't on Hitskin because I want to update the BB2 ones first, but have no courage, so the BB3 and updated BB2 FM themes are only available on my website. Plus, I have to find a pic host where...
- I won't have the PNG pics darkened under IE (photobucket darkens them, as it automatically adds gamma to all png pics, and I don't know if it's possible to turn this off).
- I can have an account so I can manage my pics
- I won't have major bandwidth issues

So, in the list, I have to remove...
- Photobucket (PNG darkened under IE)
- all my FTP accounts (I'm on a free host, so I shouldn't make abusive use of bandwidth).
