Solved Problems with a unwanted member

Post by Rum on August 14th 2010, 4:31 am

I removed a member from my forum because of them being a problem.
Now they are coming into my board as a guest and reporting post at random as abuse. I don't want to make my forum private or restrict it from guests.
Have any ideas as to how to be rid of this menace?

I have already ban all the IP's I have from them and I also ban the email and user name.
What else is there?

Why would actually guests able to report? Just disable it if needed. If they're just guests, you don't need to worry about them, they actually have much rights to the forum.

That's all good but it doesn't stop the nasty posts this person leaves when I allow guests to post.

Guess I don't have much choice other then lock the doors.
What a shame. I left another system because of very much the same issues.

Many of the report of abuses don't do much. Many forums have gotten them and never shut down. I would maybe contact forumotion and tell them this problem and see if they would let you remove the toolbar, but don't just do it by your self. Otherwise they might shut you down.

Hope I helped.

At this time I have closed all the board to guests.
Why is it I can't see the guest IP addy's after they have posted?

Admin Panel > General > Reports > Permissions > Set whatever you feel is good

They could easily use a proxy, and use a new email and different username.

I hate to say this, but one of the best ways is to move to a different forum where they will not find you.
