Forum URLs
I know forumotion is doing maintenance on its urls and just randomly changing the urls of some forums to something else. The maintenance post mentioned that it would be changing them to things like ".forumotion.com" for english forums, etc. This tripped me up a little because i noticed a couple forums I visit that already had a ".forumotion.com" url were now suddenly ".board-directory.net" instead. Why?
Another thing I'd like to ask about is something I'm mildly concerned about. Back when forumotion had like half a million urls to choose from people could easily end up with forums of the same name. For example "example.forumotion.com", "example.userboard.net" and "example.iftopic.com" could all have existed at the same time. With the amount of urls being so severely cut back and everything being changed to basic urls what happens to the forums that have the same names as other forums? What do their urls get changed to? Or do they end up getting deleted or lost in cyberspace?

Re: Forum URLs
There is quite a number of commonly used ones that won't be cut. If a forum has too similar a name to another, the system will move it to the next common url ending, if that one is taken, the next, etc.
The reason some forumotion.com ones were changed to board-directory.net , was due to some issue we experienced with Google. Those forums can easily switch bacl to forumotion.com if they choose via admin panel. This only happened to forums with less then 50 posts or so.
