Limiting IP address accounts creation to one total

Post by lethia on August 22nd 2010, 5:53 pm

I am trying to find a way to limit accounts to only one per IP address. Is there a way to do this or is the only IP limitation the 24 hours?

Thank you in advance

You can't really do it, they can always use proxies.

I think it just banns the account, meaning you just can't log on to the account.. but there is a way to ban the IP adress, as Sanket said, people like to use proxies. Razz

If they're banned normally, they can still visit the forum as a guest, but if they're ip banned, they can't, they'll get a message preventing them from viewing the forum, but members using proxies can't be ip banned.
