Forgive me if this has already been answered. Even if another member reviews a forum, are other members able to review it as well?

Just to clarify you're asking if say I for example completed a review, are you wondering if you could also come along and give a review for that forum?

If so, the answer is no, whoever tags the review is the one who completes the review and if they can't complete it they'll untag it and then you can tag and complete that review. You can't provide a review for a forum if someone has already tagged/completed that review.

The only people who are exempt from this rule if the official forumotion reviewers who if they deem necessary can re-do a review.

It says you can only request a review once every two weeks with additional requirements. Is that from the date it was requested or the date that the review was marked complete?

Cheers for the info Very Happy

EDIT:

Can I ask when it went up to every two weeks? I always thought it was once a week you could request a reivew.

Rating images are different from stamps/grades.

This is an example of stamps/grades

No problem + its only stapms/grades used by the reviewers. If members did have their own then they could use them. However the reviewer templates are only slightly different from what the members templates are and at this time we don't use grades/stamps.

I don't see anything regarding any thing like "you may only request every x" etc. Am I missing this?

You aren't missing it, I forgot to add it to the finial set of guidelines (I made them in separate parts and then merged them). I'll update them shortly.

EDIT: Thank you ddoesmc for pointing that out. The guidelines have had them added.

Hey, is there a minimum number of words that our review will be consisted of? Also, what is the maximum waiting time for a Full Review?

Hello,

I don't think there is a minimum number of words that your review will be consisted of. For the waiting time, you must wait 72 hours which that means 3 days. If the review is not done then you can bump. But most likely the review will be made the day after your post or 2 days after. They don't take longer than that!

The review isn't generally based on a number of words. You're guaranteed for a complex review you'll get a good sized paragraph for each area. However I couldn't even guesstimate on actual word count.

I have a question, I have another different forum that I want reviewed.
So can I put its request right now too or do I have to wait for 15 days?

Its per person as opposed to per forum I'm afraid otherwise someone with 10 forums could come along and request reviews for all forums.

@Derri wrote:
@lolish wrote:I have a question..why don`t you review forums that are made in other languages?
I understand that it would be hard for you to rate originality, but you could always review graphic and activity.. and maybe even tell something about the usergropus..

While I'm not an official forumotion reviewer I have been doing these reviews for quite a few months now and from my personal experience. It would be so hard to gauge anything about the forum and take in other factors which contribute to activity and graphics as well as the usergroups for example a foreign RPG forum would be so hard to do a review because you use multiple usergroups that I can't read. Even translators and other things wouldn't give an accurate transcript.

When I do my reviews I take into account what the forum is about not just basic activity and graphics etc. Also the issue of navigating a forum in a different language would be hard and if a forum didn't have just a basic navigation bar it would be tricky. Overall it would be too hard.

While I get the point of what has been said about it being to difficult to perform a review of a site in another language, I still feel like I need to ask my question to sort out my mind about it.

I know it's hard to even navigate on a site with a language you can't understand, I wouldn't even dream of trying to review one.

My question is though: Would it be possible for people that understand the language that the site is in to perform a review of it?
I mean, that would take away the difficult part, and probably the official part in lack of languages, but I'm talking more about member reviews to get a little feedback from the outside.
If I put it like this for an example: A person would post a review request stating the language the site is in, and if it happens to exist a reviewer who knows that language and is willing to take it on, would that be okay? Like me, I am a native swedish speaker, if I was doing reviews and found someone who wanted a Forumotion site in swedish to be reviewed, would that break the rules? The review itself could theoretically be in english if that is necessary.

I get that there would be no guarantee for people that would post with other languages on their site to get a review, but I just want to know if there is any possibility at all?

I hope you are able to grasp my point, and I'm sorry for any weird spelling errors or other grammatically incorrect things, I'm not a native english speaker like mentioned (and it's 5 am).

Hello Neaye,
In regards to your question. If your site is in a different language, you can always go to the official forumotion forum of that language. Forumotion has many different support forums in many different languages. You can always request a review there but the rule stands that people cannot do reviews here if the site is in a different language. We only review english forums here since this is an "English Support Forum".

To find all the different forumotion forums, click on the link below.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for your answer, and I do understand, just wanted to make sure.
The problem with that is that our ''host'' is Swedishforum and they don't really have a support forum of their own, it links directly here, or else I would have asked there.

Thanks again though Smile
