Refer-only forum

I am very new to forums, and here's what I need to know.
Is there a way for my forums to restrict its registration to refer-only? Meaning: new members can only register if the current members sent a referral invitation, making it a private forum, and only when you are referred by members that you can register...?

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button) 
No there is no option but you can make it so admin activate accounts.

Answer to your question is somewhat no. However, you can let everyone register on your forum but they can't login and start posting till you or another administrator activates it.
