Converting To MyBB

I know that converting forumotion forums to mybb is possible because forumansion.forumotion.com did it and changed to forumansion.com . So how do you do it?

They used a converter to copy & move their posts, topics, forums, members, etc, to the original phpBB forum version.

Then, they converted to MyBB. ( check phpBB.com for the forumotion to phpBB converter )

Okay thanks. Looking at that though it says that passwords will be lost.

Can someone answer my question? Will passwords be lost?

like mark said i believe they converted it to phpbb first then used something to convert phpbb to mybb.. you can check the phpbb support forum. i believe that is where they have the thread on how to convert forumotion to phpbb.

that's about all i can suggest.. i do not even know if it is legal because i do know that forumotions data is not offered to the public. but it might depend on whats being converted as well?

Actually until we staff here understand exactly how this is working and if it's something we would allow here or offer support for then i have no other choice then to lock the thread.Like i have said above i do not know much about this right now or if it is legal to do..To me converting information data from a forumotion forum to another forum host would not seem like something that would be allowed here or if it is legal because of the fact that forumotion own all data and other wise do not allow nor offer any data transfers. .

So until we know more about it i will have to lock the thread.
If everything checks out and it's OK to allow here then i will unlock the topic and help with what we can.
