Actually I mean user effort...

By banner is customizable... I change it regularly while m forum is in construction.
Chat box is already available... you just need to activate it via the admin panel.
I have seen a few forum with a music player, its a forum widget.
Facebook connect is also available by getting the button off some website. isnt it?

Sparkling? If you want this just make the ranks images instead.

I think what you are after is more user friendly options... things that mean you require 0 knowledge of CSS and HTML script.

well if i give my opinion i say that i like forumotion features & that,s why i have my forum on forumotion but yes this question also came in my mind while visiting, that one forum has more than 1 lac members & i did see a forum last week which have member of 180,0000 . & moreover most famous forums are powered by VBULLETIN.

No doubt forumotion is going very very well but is this the reason that VBULLETIN forums are more older than Forumotion or is there some other reason ?

VB is already incorporated within forumotion, so in a way, we already have VB forums tongue

For many reasons, which, most are more than obvious, I'm voting No.

Not going to happen. The reasons are obvious.

Forumotion doesn't even use the real phpBB3 version for your forums, so why should they use vB?

Just check the templates, soo much VB Love

The techs ahve access the the DB & thus MySQL Dumping Wink

Don't expect to get advantage of any VB features because even if Forumotion adds VB version, they will only add the VB like templates and style sheet. The core features of VB won't be added.

We have phpBB, punBB and Invision version and all of them have same set of features which I call ForumotionBB Razz Forumotion have just added version that looks like punBB, phpBB and invision but the features are same in all version, so same will happen if VB is added.

vBulletin isn't free forum software, so Forumotion can't add it to the list of options.

Invision isn't free as well but still it is there Wink
Also, there are codes from vB software on Forumotion even when FM is free Razz

FM can add any version, no matter free or paid.

I voted no because we can get VB like look by editing punBB templates and CSS Wink Once we have template editing feature, we don't need any version to be added. We can create own version.

It isn't the real version of IBP. Also, another free forum host was closed for using IPB. ( poor forum owners... )

@ankillien wrote:Also, there are codes from vB software on Forumotion even when FM is free Razz

FM can add any version, no matter free or paid.
Forumotion can't add vBulletin.

They are creating fake versions using old forum software and saying that it's all of the latest versions of forum software.

Even if they added a fake version like the others, if reported, Forumotion can be closed down if they refused to remove it.

Have you ever noticed that no other free forum host offers vBulletin software as an option?

@ankillien wrote:We already have template editing with BB2 and punBB versions. You can make your forum look like vB using templates.
You might be able to make it look a little like a vBulletin forum, but forumotion doesn't provide forum owners with enough PHP variables or freedom to be used. Also, things might get a little complicated because you have not created the templates & CSS files yourself. There might be errors, that could affect how search engines crawl your forum.

Mark,

That IPB host was closed because they used IPB's PHP files and provided free hosting which is illegal, while here on FM, they only provide IPB templates and that also with their permission Wink Don't you see copyright of respective forum software owner in the footer?

Also, we can make a punBB board look like vB easily and we never need to edit PHP files Razz It is complicated for only those who are poor at coding Razz

Don't worry about search bots, changes in templates can never affect SEO stuff if you do it the smart way Wink All we need is a punBB board and knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript to make it EXACTLY look like vB forum.

All what I want to say is, vB like looking forum is possible if you are good at coding. You never need to touch the PHP files or database.

Some comments...

You don't need templates to make a forumotion board look like a vBulletin board. All you need is advanced knowledge of javascript and the ability to think outside the box. Very Happy

Invision boards on forumotion have no IPB copyright -- forumotion commented out the IPB copyright in the footer. It's one of many reasons I like IPB/Invision boards here...there's one less link in the footer. Cool

And look at this file: http://help.forumotion.com/wysiwyg/wysiwyg_global.js

What's that at the top? Shocked
