Google analytics not working? Empty Google analytics not working?

Post by Susy S October 6th 2010, 1:12 am

I signed up for google analytics and posted the ID code in my forum. Since yesterday it says I've had 2 hits but I know for sure there's been at least 3, me and 2 others have posted.

Did I miss something? I read something about posting the large code that they give you, on each page that you want tracked, but in Sanket's tutorial he never said to do that, so I figured it wasn't necessary for our forums... is that incorrect?
Someone help please.

Hi,

Can you please provide a link to Sanket's tutorial?

Also, you only need to post the ID Number in the google analytics section in General > Google analytics and it should be accurate.

Thank you!!

Ok it's not really a tutorial but he described it for someone here:

I have 2 more questions. Today it shows 29 hits. So does that mean it totals the hits at the end of each day? Or will it update each time someone visits?

Also, if the same person visits twice, will they be counted twice? I'm guessing yes, correct?

Not a problem Smile

It should mean 29 hits today.

I believe 1 person logged in = 1 hit (even if they return to the forum still logged in, I don't think it counts as a 2nd hit; Ill try and confirm that shortly)
if 1 guest were to view ur forum twice in 1 day = 2 hits I believe.
