freeroll.forummotion.com - abuse!

Post by lolerboat on Thu Oct 07, 2010 5:42 pm

Freeroll.forummotion.com is stealing passwords from sites with inhouse poker tournaments for their own profit. Eg. getting people signed up to pokersites through their referal among other shady things.

Is it not against Forummotion policy? Also it would be nice if you could release the person IP so he can be banned on the sites he steals from also.

I'm a moderator on a homepage that had it's password publicised on freeroll.forummotion.com several times now. It's for our members only, but someone is leeching the password to that site which is against our policy and I hope it's against yours aswell.

Otherwise I'll have to DDoS the server freeroll.forummotion.com is on if no actions are taken due to it's intrusion towards my and other poker communities.

They are allowed to ban anyone if they feel you aren't following the rules. As long as the forum is following the Terms of Service please don't report it because you got banned.

This is a common problem on poker sites, and one that sites that you mention are able to get away with unhindered because the poker sites themselves do not care.

Ultimately the passwords are YOUR responsibility and the moment you publicise them you are making them public information.

I would look first at how your members are leaking YOUR events out. Are you releasing the passwords too early ? Can you ask the poker sites to restrict access to the games to those that you specify. Some sites will restrict access to only those people that use your link to download the software.

I too run a poker site and its a problem we've had before, but then again we gained alot of our members by using freerolls. Lets face it, I bet you got most of your members through freerolls you've offered. You have to take some of the rough with the smooth.

The site you mentions survives because YOUR member are giving out the passwords. You cannot blame them for that.
