Solved Re: new forum member activation posting question

Post by Sanket October 13th 2010, 7:03 pm

Hi, your title not being specific and therefore not facilitating research via the search option, I'm not answering (nor is any other member ) until you change your title to a more specific one, related to your problem

Why do we ask you to use explicit titles
Code:
The forum's search engine bases its research on keywords found in [b]topic titles[/b].

When you do a research, do you use "help", "urgent", "problem", "SOS" or "question" as keywords to look for topics about your problem/question?

Certainly not!  So this is why it is important to use titles [b]related to your problem/question[/b].  Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.

Thanks for your understanding.

Well, i was not rude.

You have to follow certain rules, if you find asking you to follow rules a bit rude. I can't really help it.

Unless you change the title, question here to something else related to your problem we cant help you.

Well, can't really help if the statement sounds rude to you. Its a default template which we have for this.

Anyways, first of all you will need to make a members group. The members group will have minimum number of post as 1. Do the settings in the Users & groups>Group administration.

Now General>Categories and Forums
Click on a forum name. Permissions tab.
Now for the default members group, let them view only that specific introduction forum. So this way, they will only see this forum.

Now for the members group which you created, make the permissions of all forums available to this group. So they can view everything.

If there are anymore questions, feel free to post.
