Solved Problem: "Your Forum is against the rules"

Post by Mr.Killerguitar on October 17th 2010, 8:41 am

We have on a forum a big problem. The admin (whom I now present because she doesn't know anything about it Sad ) got an email. It says, that the forum is against the forumotion rules and if we don't change it, it'll be deleted on the 10/25.
Unfortunatly, the message itself doesn't say, what the problem is. We are a Sailor Moon Forum and we have pictures on the board that might be copyrighted, but we're making no profit with it and always link the source, so we're not really working aginst any rule. Than, we have an area, that's only for mature people and our Admin always checks the people before they're allowed to access those threads. They have a lot of porn stories and, of course, henati pictures. Is that the problem?
I mean, we're wether dumb nor stupid. Around 90% of our users are 18+ just because Sailor Moon itself is quite old. We're a German Board and especially in Germany we have a lot of laws about protecting youth etc and we obey those rules.

Has anyone got a similar message and knows where it comes from? We never wanted to piss at a big company's leg, for sure. We're just a Fan forum, made by fans for fans.

PS: Is also hope, this is in the right forum. It has been a while since I posted here Smile (don't be mad!!!) If not, pls, mods, move it!

Moved to other problem section, this was the GD.

To answer your question, you already know the answer. Your forum consists of Porn Stories & Henati Pictures. So thats the problem.

First of all, thanks for moving it. As I said, it's been a while and I just be so egoistic to make a mod move it Smile (joke)

Is that really true? We really have made a forum that's only seen for a special usergroup and we only let ppl in that usergroup that are old enough!

As I said, we're Germans and a German Forum. The law here is really strict and we would never let a child on that special 18+ Forum....

BUT, if the rules say so, we have to.... obey Sad

Mmh.... Okay. We signed to those rules so we gonna work with them.

You can lock this thread. Thanks again for the fast answers! It really helped out a lot! I'd like to suggesting, btw, that forumotion should write into those mails, what rule the forum is breaking Smile So it's not so confusing! We just guessed!

EDIT:
Is it okay, to link to hentai sites or something like that? I have read the rules of forumotion ones, but they're really confusing and had been (if not changed) miserably translated to German. So I'm not really sure if we're in a black or in a grey zone of the rules Very Happy

General rules, you can't really pinpoint rules.

Since this thread appears to be solved, I will lock this thread and mark it as solved.
