Admin advice

Post by Andre on October 24th 2007, 3:51 pm

For those who are unfamiliar with the ins and outs of being an Admin, I would well imagine that the Admin position would be quite daunting, especially when you get a situation that calls for immediate action. As well, how to choose your moderators and what responsibilities do you give them.

My suggestion is to create an advisory board for those who need questions answered aside from the technical. You can make a disclaimer that the opinions expressed are those of the advisor only.

I think there would be a need for those who are new at being an Admin or even a moderator. The Legal department can have a say as subjects may cross thier paths.

There are many forums particularly for administrators to discuss their jobs, and techniques.

I would suggest going to them, since they are already well established, and have many members.
I know of a really good one- PM me if you want the link.

The one I know of is MASSIVE! There are many categories to discuss every aspect (and more) of the daunting task of being a forum administrator. This forum has helped me become a better admin in so many ways.

I would have thought such a board could be part of the support board.

A good idea, I voted yes
